Last night returning home, well about 12:30 this morning I came across a speed trap on the road between Beaconsfield old & new town... right on the corner (i think it's a school?) in the 30 mph zone.... I didn't get busted luckily... though I just think the laser zappers could have been earning more on a slightly more busy road as there wasn't exactly much traffic there at that time!!! Is that a regular midnight speed trap site?!

Oh yes indeed that is a regular favourite - outside Davenies school.

I know because 13 years ago I was caught doing 38mph there. And I had my spanking new radar detector with me, plugged in and switched on. It bleeped like hell. Except it was already too late - got with a 'hairdryer' gun.

Another one to watch for is between Holtspur and beaconsfield. just after the hearvester / beefeater or whatever

And another one outside the Simpson centre doctors surgery - Gregoris road I think

Years of being a 'beconsfield-ian' one knows these things.

for some reason the risborough police are on a bit of a quest at the moment to. ive lived here the whole of my life and ive never seen them with so many portable speed traps and undercover vans.

the other thing...... do the police sit down the west wycombe road with a white van nearly every sunday morning????

I've seen a speed trap (hairdryer) by Davenies school. A lot of people heading North are doing 40 something there so I can understand why they pick that spot.

Not sure about why they would choose the A40 near the Harvester at Holtspur though? Its a 50 limit right? Maybe one of the councillors lives around the corner ...

You have to be careful approaching Davenies from the New Town as the radar detectors get set off by Hughes (Mercedes) automatic doors - if you get used to that and ignore it (as quite a few people I know do) - then you get clobbered coming around the corner..

?Do you mean between Holtspur-Beaconsfield A40 or the road which links Holtspur with the New Town - (name escapes me)..?

Went to Beaconfield yesterday afternoon and saw a grey senator sitting on the side of the A40 at the double roundabouts which go down to Wooburn Green - definately a plain clothes car (amazing how much you can see when in a transit )
