Just read most of it, not much about making it earier for motorists, just for buses. Typical cr4p you expect for the idiots on the council, still at least they don't want speed humps on Marlow hill yet.

OK I'm just going to have a general rant about Wycombe roads.... Sorry.

I seriously think there can't be a single person with a driving licence making decisions about the roads in Wycombe. Nearly everything they do is utter ... rubbish!

There's so many pointless traffic lights with utterly crazy timings/delays. How much pollution are they trying to create here?

There's so many speed ramps. Why? Again, how much pollution are they trying to create here? (Both exhaust emissions and noise!)

I might start driving my car at 30mph over speed ramps, and then when I smash the sump on the deck and put the shocks through their mountings, I'll claim that it should have been safe to do so, but the road surface was defective - it had lots of lumps in it. (OK maybe I won't actually do this...)

To be honest I actually like it when they put chicanes in though (You know, where they force oncoming traffic in to each other's path?) it gives a challenge to get round the obstacle course as fast as possible!

I'm glad to hear that they're at least "thinking" of taking those pointless rumble-strips of Amersham Hill on the way in to town. I can see them sitting there going "I've got it!! I know how we'll stop brake failure on HGVs, we'll put rumble strips in on the down hill section, in case the driver doesn't know he's going down a hill already! I'm a bl***y genius!"
I wonder how much money they waste putting traffic calming (read: traffic aggravating) measures in, then realising they don't work, and taking them out again?

Can they not see that certain things are doomed to fail BEFORE actually spending money on proving it?

Arggghhhhhhhhh...

OK, I'm done.

have you seen the bullshit at the top of Marlow Hill!!!

Yeah, nearly ran a red light there yesterday, pulled out from Cressex towards Wycombe and there is a light just at the end of the roundabout thingy for a pedestrian crossing. This is a good thing as there are 2 big schools there and the kids need it. However, the light seems to turn red when there are no pedestrians present - so no traffic and no pedestrians in sight I pull out onto the junction on my green light and trundle down towards Wycombe. Stop! shouts my girlfriend. WTF! Who set the signal to go red when nobody has pressed the crossing button. There is so much road furniture I simply didn't notice the red light. As an advanced motorist I should have ... what about everyone else who is paying less attention?

Thankfully I only go through the new lights on a saturday, everytime I sit there for about 1 minute while no cars go the other way, does it work well during peak time ?

Couldnt agree more, this particular light serves no purpose other than to hold up traffic. I thought that it was phased incorrectly, as it should only be pedestrian operated and would be rectified, but i guess i was wrong.

And how many times have you nearly been t-boned by someone jumping the red from Cressex? The whole thing is a bunch of ar$e.

I know the junction wasn't great before in peak traffic.. but it's about 10 times worse now! And how many months of roadworks did it take to construct this royal cock up? No wonder council tax is so bleeding expensive here.

Yeah, I suffer with that shite almost every time I leave/return to my house, as I live just off Marlow Hill (the turning by the 30 limit signs)

Most of the town's traffic system is like a poor attempt at comedy, those lights in particular, coming up the hill in the middle of the night (especially annoying when pressing on along an empty uphill dual carriageway!!) and the lights by Daws Hill Lane go red for no reason, then you have to stop for the little residential road on the left, then AGAIN for the A404 from Handy Cross to join, then AGAIN to go back down the hill! And all the while you see not ONE SINGLE other vehicle, apart from on people's driveways, whilst you look around for something to keep you from falling asleep because you are sat still for such a monumental amount of time. I have taken to reversing and flashing headlights and all sorts in a vain effort to make the lights change quicker, soon I will just check for pedestrians etc and just drive through them.

The rumble strips on Amersham Hill are also pathetic, as said what point do thay serve? To wake people up so they realise they are driving? I just swerve around them now, have even got a thumbs up from somebody in a merc before!
