Saw at least 4 of the things circling in the Windsor/ Slough area just now. Don't think the RAF have them so must be USAF.
Can't remember the name but they are twin (massive) prop that can take offf vertically and then swivel the props forward to give forward flight.
Pretty sure is saw something large being escorted into Northolt at the same time.

I did binge watch some XFiles last night 'but I knows what I saw godammit!'

Presidential fleet, they've been at Mildenhall this week I believe for the presidential visit.
Quite funny that the President cannot fly on it, because of safety issues!
Even funnier that the aircraft is based on a British concept from over half a century ago!

Fairey Rotodyne.
Granted, not exactly the same, but broadly similar, main difference being that the Rotodyne had a separate "up down" and "forward" rotor, and the MV-22 has only only which switches between roles.

Think it had little jet engines in its rotor tips IIRC.
