10th Anniversary - Idea's for the Day
Discussion
Hello all.
This week is our 10th anniversary and for the first time in around 4 years we have a day together, when we are not working, and without the kids. I am looking for idea's to spend the day as I have already exhausted most of mine.
Back in the day, when we had no kids, good incomes and two decent cars we used to splash out on 2 night spa breaks, usually spending around £800 on a two night stay. We have done most of the good ones so I looked st spa's and quite fancied trying Grayshott but for various reasons, mostly cost, but also the ongoing tye of having a dog, I have now ruled this out. £200 day pass for 2 for a few hours use of a pool and gym plus a mediocre shoulder rub from a woman wearing a white tunic no longer represents great value to me, plus the whole spa experience thing has probably been done to death now.
So what else can we do? I don't mind spending something, but I fancy something different. In fact as I type a falconry experience day springs to mind which could be epic... any ideas?

If you do go for the falconry thing, I can recommend forest falcons in the New Forest, I recently did their half day experience and really enjoyed it. I wish I had done the full day as they fly the larger birds (golden eagles) in the afternoon. This week is our 10th anniversary and for the first time in around 4 years we have a day together, when we are not working, and without the kids. Bit of a Marmite suggestion but on holiday recently we took a 40 min trip in a light aircraft.
Given the better half suffers vertigo and she'd never flown in a small aircraft before I was somewhat sceptical that she'd enjoy it.
To the contrary she was totally smitten to the extent we'll be looking at further flights now we're back.
So what about an air experience flight in either a light aircraft or glider?
Plenty of airfields in TV but Booker and Lasham spring to mind.
Maybe afterwards a meal at a local hostelry just to round it off?
Still gives you time to enjoy the day and be back in time to walk the dog!
HTH.
Cheers, Pewe.
