Ahhh, the spiritual home of the SAS beer

Not been there for ages, although I walk past it frequently with the Kinky-9.

No-one I know goes there, as they either frequent the Lounge (too ponsey, and no Guinness) or the Nags (which I've not been in since it's takeover). Although I could easily be persuaded smile

Oak's landlord shut up shop before tenancy ended so was closed for a spell but now open with brewery's new people in. Nag's much better after the refurb though landlord's a bit awkward and keeps funny hours, doesn't open lunchtime during the week.

Nice to see that the Sunningdale Lounge (the one on the A30) is now closed "indefinately, due to unforseen circumstances".

IMHO this is good, as the place was awful when they turned it into a gatropub and nightclub rolleyes

Just shows its a tough game to be involved in and make money, Pubs that do well seem to be decant Gastro Pubs rather than stand alone boozers

You old cynic!! It wasn't that bad, was it?

The few occasions I went I did think it was trying too hard, but it wasn't that bad as a place for a pint.

Talking of a pint we should have another 'meet'.....??
