Can anyone recommend a cinema in Basingstoke please? I heard that there was a new one with decent seats and great sound etc but can't recall which one it was.

Thanks,

Mark

Its the Ster Century one in Festival Place. Even it has gone downhill since opening - they now sell popcorn .

The Warner Village one became so horrible to visit (due to its clientele) I gave up on it totally. The Ster Century is going this way but is still, by far, the better of the two.

Nice one, thanks. I hate going to the cinema but for once I can't wait for the film (Hitchhikers) to come out on dvd.

No problem. I'm going to be suckered into going to see Revenge of the Shit and Hitchhikers, no doubt...

Ster Century is definitely the better of the two. Decent seats (which don't tilt up), good legroom (enough for people to get past you without having to stand up), good tiering (so you seldom have to look at the back of someone's head) and good size screens.
I don't think we've been to the Warner since Ster Century opened.

No complaints at all about Ster Centurary (sp). Got a nice curry house outside as well...

Curry house has closed - gone bust they tell me. But the Tapas bar is good, Nandos is cheap and the Italian is expensive - but very tasty...

Indeed it is. We go there far too often and the bill is always a little scary.

Edit: Yes, yes, we should simply order fewer dishes.

Good cinema although a tad louder than I expected

I liked the film too (Hitchhikers) although it's had pretty mixed reviews... smacks of Terry Gilliam if you ask me.
