Hi All,

I'm hoping that somebody might know of a good (mobile preferably) auto-electrician in or around the Crowthorne/Wokingham/Camberley/Bracknell area please? The reason I'm looking for a mobile one preferably is that the low beam lights have gone on my car and we believe it is down to an earthing issue as we've bypassed various bits in our testing and the lights work fine on their own. We can also see the voltage drop to 9v or so at various places.

With the lights not working I cannot take the car to the specialist as they are based in Chipping Norton and with the weather/shorter days we need the lights to be working, unfortunately.

Any advice/assistance anybody can provide will be gratefully received.

Are they Halogen or HID lights?

It's a HID conversion kit. However, we have removed this and used a normal halogen bulb to eliminate the kit being faulty and we still get the same results.

http://www.hammondauto.net/ is great - fixed my Lotus issue in about 20 mins. He came mobile to me but I am only 5 mins away so see what he says about coming a bit further.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply Rich but unfortunately it has come just a little too late as I've booked the car in with Walkinshaw for them to take a look at it.

Be interesting to know what was wrong in the end, I was going to suggest as a last resort, if you needed to get to Chipping Norton, just hard wire the lights straight to the battery, by-passing all the original switches and wiring.
