Im probably going to go to the Black Swan meet tmrw - you don't get hemmed in do you and unable to leave? I am on nights all night so if I get tired I want to bail without being held up.

I've been quite a few times and never been hemmed in.

Been to the Black Swan, stayed for an hour and a half and came home again - I've never seen it so busy - maybe 300+ cars????

This is interesting... still no meets and no mowing of the field, as far as I can tell, at the Fairmile! Wouldn't want to be trying to escape the Black Swan with 300 cars in attendance but lovely place on a day like today!

Because of the excellent volunteer Stewards it's actually pretty easy to get in and out at the Black Swan - possibly a bit of a queue in I expect after about 8:30am...

I went with the kids, it was seriously rammed which was great but yes ingress an egress took some planning. The queue for the food and drinks was phenomenal.

The catering queues have always been a problem, especially today as it was so busy.

Probably because it was the first one in a rather miserable year and the weather was great!

The group I go with meets up elsewhere for catering before heading to the Black Swan - Cobham services isn't far away.

Just seen Surrey Scoobies had a meet at the Fairmile today, so they are going ahead - albeit not in the usual PH numbers!

I guess they don't park on the grass? Or have they mowed it?

They only had about 8 or so cars! So maybe just the car park bit at the side.

I wouldn't want folk to turn up in their cars and have to park in the 1ft+ grass... will ask 'em if/when they're mowing it!

Time to organise one for the end of August?

I can check the state of the lawn this week if I remember as I should be driving past that way after collecting my new car.

I'm down in Devon at the moment but last time I was home, I think they had finally mowed the field and I saw something on the 'Gram about an American car meet, recently.

Will have a chat when I get home!

They look like savoury scones?

I was about to post that I'm no longer coming to your meets if you put cheese and chutney on an actual scone.

Yeah, first ones are savoury cheese scones - blooming delicious!

Had a second set this afternoon after roaming the Ham Butts Farm, South Devon smile

I'd offer to bring some back but by the time I organise a meet, they'll be green biggrin

If you can't make it, I could have a look for you - I live just down the road.
