I've just been down there again, can't see anything. I even stopped and got out at the bend. Nothing.

I have been cycling the bends daily on my commute, there are no cameras anywhere along them at all. Most of the road network is covered in low trees and branches meaning cameras would have to be no higher than a person. I have been looking for them at all ends, Mytchett, Frimley, Pirbright and by Vapery Lane. Bikes also tearing along them today with knees down, making the most of them.

You don't mean what I have circled below? - they aren't cameras.

That's what I saw, good news it's not a camera - l'd not clocked it before, so assumed it was what we've all be expecting to appear...

I've done a full recce all over the weekend, there is nothing there. I am tempted tp contact Surrey and maybe use FOI to get an answer as the intentions.

Very pleased to hear I'm not the only one that hasn't noticed any cameras yet. I was "testing" the road early morning and all seemed clear

Road number?

Its Gapemouth Road in Pirbright, and all that adjoins it. There are multiple loops and options to drive them, something I suspect has now come to fruition and why no cameras have gone up. The cost and maths to cover all potential options and routes would be.... monumental.

B3012. Go from Frimley Green Harvester to Pirbright. You can go under the bridge half way along the route and follow that to Mychett too. It's like a Y shape.

Still nothing but signs around the mytchett side

30mph in some sections, not noticed that before (Ive not been there in a few months). What set of absolute throbbers decided to make it a 30 limit? People go absolutely mental when they get stuck behind people doing 30 round there.

The signs are lies basically. I find it disgusting.

No cameras anywhere and the road network is too complex with limit variations to enforce as I always suspected.

Work is scheduled to begin next week to dig trenches for cables and then a couple of weeks later installation.
The cameras are coming

How? There are variable speed limits along the road network, with it running into 30, 40 and NSL throughout. There are also numerous routes one can take to U turn, double back, avoid a set etc. Plus the vegetation will make it nigh on impossible to position cameras effectively.

Someone's cocked up which explains the lack of action. Whatever does result, if anything, won't be effective.

The road is going to be a blanket 40 and they will have multiple camera sites so you cannot sneek through. Not sure how the trees and bushes will affect it though. Unless they cut some down it is going to be obscured at times.

goto roadworks.org and type in the name of the road and check for the next 2 weeks. Both Mytchett place road & Gole road have work starting soon.

Cameras will just go at points where it is clear enough to see number plates and there are plenty of places for that.

Changing the speed limit there has just been done, with various part of it amended owing to resident petition and local council direction. Any amendment would need a protracted period of consultation and design with the local TMO reps.

The cost of equipment and testing to effectively cover all possible routes and deviations would be astronomical. I look forward to seeing what transpires. And once any cameras are up, very little revenue will generate anyway.

Drove down here yesterday, and there's poles in place at the start and end of the 40mph sections. No sign of cameras yet, but the big yellow poles to install them on are now in place.

Saw them yesterday on my way home, some of them are in the middle of the trees. Unless they are going to chop down lots of trees and branches I cant see how they are able to get clear views of your reg plate.
