I saw the TVSRP scammers in a new place this evening at about 7.15pm, the van was parked on one of those "tables" next to the hard shoulder just before the Winnersh junction, heading towards Reading. Unfortunately I only clocked it as I passed, too late if I'd been over the limit - it was completely unlit.

I'm sure they will be making a lot of revenue this evening - I can't recall ever seeing them out at night before, and that is a fast road.

Ed, the number of times you've been done I'd have thought you'd know by now!

It's about CA$H

A crying shame, that blatt from M4 jc10 in to Reading is often deserted and is a chance to blow the cobwebs away after a dreary drive on the M4.

There have been a number of accidents around there, but not due to speed. It's all to do with people pulling silly tricks in an effort to leave at a crowded Winnersh.

I guess they've got wise to the speeds I was doing

there have been a few real humdingers over the last year. One was a van that simply didnt bother to brake & hit all the traffic queing for the Winnersh turn off. And more recently a multi car spectacular.

Thats the road I use to travel home every night .. not rare to see rep car after rep car whizzing past me at high speed (apologies to those sane reps out there)

Admit it's one stretch that sadly does seem to need policing.. be nice is they'd announce their presence though (as I now know they dont have to.. to my recent cost)

It is a great road for the last leg of the journey home as puggit says. Despite J11 being technically closer to home (I live near Castle Hill/Tilehurst Road), I tend to come off there on the way back from London/M25 simply to get off the motorway and enjoy myself for the last few minutes of the journey.

Between the Winnersh turn off and the last Reading one / TVP, there's bugger all around

Run past a few times around 6-6.30pm, pleased to say nothing up there.

If it's the raised platform on the northbound carriageway then I believe there's lots of trees and a sign in the way. Its not great visibility either way.

Not sure, as I fly past at Mach 1.5

The visibility from that raised platform isn't great, so I reckon they must just keep the gun trained on a particular spot in lane 2, and just get a reading of any numberplate they can target. Cars in lane 1 would be mostly blocking sight into lane 2 during busy periods.

By the same token, if the road were clear and you came round that slight bend at even .9 leptons, there is NO WAY you would be able to slow down enough on seeing the van to avoid getting done.

I am worried I have got caught by this van. I was going from reading to wokingham, and was doing around 80, went to overtake a white van, when he pulled out infront of me, so I was very close behind him, then he started to brake, i couldnt see what for, so I slowed down too, but was still doing around 80, then I saw the van. Hopefully because I was close behind him they didnt get me....fingers crossed.

They were out on the A329(M) again this morning at about 9.30am. The same ramp ( northbound before the Winnersh turnoff), this time it was a Battenburg traffic Vectra with a hand-held gun - a bit more difficult to see as you come round the corner. So drive safely, everyone.

Why is it that you never have a granade launcher on you when you need one?

Probably because of the accidents on Monday - although I suspect they weren't caused by speeding at that time of day!!
