Somewhat to Mrs Kermit's displeasure, my process of indoctrinating Little Miss Kermit (age 4 and a quarter) into the joys of all things automotive is starting to produce notable results!

At present, her particular favourite is getting Kermit to go "growly-growly" (no prizes for guessing where she got that one from )so I've promised her we'll go on a growly outing on Saturday.

Question is... Where?

Does anyone have any good suggestions relatively close to Epsom? Tunnels, cuttings, that sort of thing?

Road that goes from the Grandstand to Langley Vale. Only short bit where it passes under the race track.

Or bit further out, road from Dorking to Leith Hill has quite a few high sides.

Or. A23 where it goes under part of Gatwick Airport. Many's a time I've blasted through that on a Yoshimura exhausted Suzuki

That fits the bill perfectly! I had completely forgotten about it, as I usually have 2 mountain bikes on the roof, and therefore go up it relatively sensibly.

Tunnel by Scilley Isles, Portsmouth Road, heading towards Kingston. I have been known to test it.

Wait until the Tunnel on the A3 is finished then we can have some serious tunnel running

just head to Heathrow.

If you are really brave try the service tunnel if not the main one is good

Its safe to say that I definatly wouldnt do that in your 'Stang! yikes

Oh and the main tunnel regularly has police about there nowadays.

I fly out of there on business 15-20 times a year, but always have to park in the Park 1 just above the tunnel, so I never actually get to go through it!

Having said that, the chances of getting through it at much more than an idle aren't great.

If you time it right you can exploit the service tunnel, but the speed bumps spoil the fun a little.

True, but that's more than made up for by the sight of the occasional cyclist in there turned into a gibbering wreck by the sound of a V8 up their jacksie at high revs!

Apparently there is a service tunnel under the runway connecting T1 to T4. Not sure if that's actually true, but it would be fun to try if it's there!

Maserati with a tubi at Heathrow used to cause a bit of fun! Have not tried the Ultima but maybe soon! Hatfield on the M25 is always good

Little bit further afield, but the tunnel that heads from Lewes village to the bypass. You could pop down to Newhaven and make a day of it (beach?).
The tunnel starts from a mini roundabout, is perfectly circular apart from the road of course, and is acoustically mind blowing

I use that road every year on the way to the ferry for Le Mans, and in my bike engined kit car i'd start at one end of the tunnel in 1st and i'd hit 12k in every gear and leave the tunnel some way through 6th...

Well if you were heading down to Lewes then you might as well make sure you route via Petworth, the stone walls there are a riot. Went down through with 13 or so Cerbs last year, nice and early as well just to give them a nice wake up call.

While you are trying out all these suggestions down near the coast, don't forget to give the tunnels on the A27 near Shoreham the onceover, or twice if you have to turn around idea
