Hi - I'm trying to organise an informal petrolheads evening with some colleagues from work (very low key) and looking for a decent pub with reasonable beer and food somewhere in the M4 / M3 corridor - say as far down as Fleet on M3 and Reading on M4. Also with a fairly large car park. Any suggestions? The only one I can think of is the Seven Stars at Knowl Hill - but years since I've been there......

think the Seven Stars is no more

however, just along the A4 is the Bird in Hand which is well known for Porsche meets with large car park and decent food/beer

I've been thinking about this aswell!

Two suggestions:

The Waterwitch
Odiham
Hampshire
RG21 1AL

(2 Miles from Fleet, near Hook) Very Nice Country Pub by the Basingstoke Canal, very quiet location, food excellent! - Highly Recommended!

or

The DeHavilland Arms
Elvetham Heath
Fleet
Hampshire
(Not sure of Post Code)

Both have large car parks but personally I like the Waterwitch for the location and tasty grub!

Would have a few people who'd be up for coming along too!

yes

Delicious food there, isn't it? I could have their fillet mignon with stilton everyday of the week.lick

It does tend to get pretty busy in the evenings and especially at weekends... And it's not huge inside, so you might want to arrive a bit early or late for main meal times, to ensure you get a table. You also can't book if you're going there to eat. But it's worth going there anyway because it's so nice.

What about the Forresters in Chuch Crookham, they have quite a large carpark and another one very close. They even do Kobe steak burgers, menu looks good as well.
