I believe some areas of Surrey are quite damp, but it's mainly Croydon, which doesn't really count! smile

We were about 1 inch away from getting flooded at work. The wind was so strong it was blowing water up the road against the flow.

The Mrs had a job getting down the Oxford Rd and people were driving way up on the paths. Still, not as bad as Maidenhead.

Helped pull a 4'ish year old girl out of a car window when her mum's Golf got stranded in 2 feet of water! The husband turned up shortly after and didn't even say thanks! 3+ feet of flooding on the Swallowfield Bypass heading towards Basingstoke - just around a bend - several cars had ploughed in and collided before BiB closed the road... Luckily I was on the other carriageway! Reading services closed as the entry roads were flooded - chaos on M4. Lower Elmstone Drive in Tilehurst has collapsed into the drain - which to be fair is an annual event apparently as Reading Council never repair it properly!

So, I had an eventful trip out as you can tell!

It's okay here at work other than most of the routes out are apparently flooded. Suddenly it doesn't seem so good having a car thats low to the ground! Home should be fine as we live on the top of a massive hill! If that flooded the entire rest of the area would be underwater!

Yep, all very familiar places too.

Took us about an hour longer than expected to get home today as almost every route was blocked with a massive flood and a few broken down cars of the unlucky people who attempted to pass through.

The car park at work was under about 3ft of water at one point, most of it has gone now but still left with about 3-4 ins deep and a lake about 20ft wide and 100ft across!!

Binfield is damp but being on the top of the hill the middle of the village is ok - a mile down the road is a bit of a different story with a lot of the country roads passing between fields under a lot of water..........

Blimey!

The M4 between Slough & Maidenhead was the worse I've ever seen this morning.

Ordinarily, I would have been very worried driving my car is this weather, but seeing as though it's already shagged after an impromptu meeting with a big puddle a couple of weeks ago, I don't give a shit. I am lucky enough to be using a big 4WD wagon.

Anyone know what the M40 from Wycombe to Denham is like?

Fine where I am in Maidenhead but then I am close to the top of a hill However School for eldest and Nursery for youngest both closed (bloody teachers, any excuse) so stuck with the kids all day, LOTS of Tv for them then biggrin - Took the Landy into town at lunchtime to cause some bow waves and soak a few pedestrians... and succeeded

Took me an extra hour to get home from work as all the express trains from. Paddington seemed to be cancelled. Had to get a local stopper; don't think anything was running past Reading.

Interested to hear the Oxford Road was affected - I live off there!! I usually drive down it to get home unless the traffic is bad, which it was today (guess thats why!), I nipped up on to the Tilehurst Rd instead. Got home no probs smile

I hope the roads are passable tomorrow to get to Sandown for the karting. Was planning to take M4, think I'll give that a miss now.

Well it took me 2.5 hours to get home when it usually takes 25 mins! Must have driven through at least 10 pretty serious floods! Got within a quarter of a mile of home thinking I'd made it when I found the road leading to my house seriously flooded - never seen anything like it! Decided to go for it as I thought I'd seen it all by then... Even going slowly a big bow wave built up - and was magnified by the surrounding walls, washing over the end of my bonnet (was in my BMW luckily!) Was convinced it was going to die on me, but it kept plodding on, just about made it home - phew! biggrin

That was pretty nuts. Took me 3.5 hours to get from Theale to Thatcham (10 miles). Stopped on the dual-c on a a4 to help push a woman's car on to the verge as it had broken down and some bloke in a merc was swearing and gesturing towards me because I'd blocked one lane (traffic was going from 0 to 3mph and back again) while I helped push the car. C*nt.

Got stuck in massive queues in Windsor.

Terrible jam up on Windsor by-pass + through to Kings Road.

Kind soul told me my car was too low to get through the lake in Fifield, so I did a U.

M4 was dreadful, but not wet.

I'm staying inside!

I had a terrible trip from London to Bristol this morning on the M4. My colleage's wife dropped him in Bristol, and went back to London. She started at 11:20am, and got home at 4:30pm. We had another meeting in Somerset - and after this morning and hearing about the nightmare Journey, we decided to stay here the night and work our way back in the morning.
