This is starting to bug me, I keep seeing this thread at work and can't watch the video... and keep forgetting to have a look when I'm at home!

However chap - there will be no back seats to fold down so I can't get a scooter wink

How much power is required to scare you?

It's not so much the power as the RWD rather than 4WD... your car for example would scare me plenty with me driving it rofl

so would anything RWD with enough power and few or no driver aids

Have to agree - 4WD is for tractors only IMHO.

Isn't this the obvious answer?

Nope... don't do automatics either hehe

That is bloody cheap though, a 4.5 Cerb that was reliable would probably be my idea of a perfect car to be honest.

Yeah, but a manual M3?

I've thought about a TVR many times (tuscan) but I don't think I could cope with their temperamental nature. I also think that after having had porsches the handling would seem somewhat crap.

I think you'd be surprised by the handling (if you get one that's sorted out) however they won't match the feeling of solidity that you get in your car.

I've driven a couple, they are ok up to about 7/10ths and after that they are dangerous IMHO.

You don't have to spend a lot to sort out TVR handling - around £1000 on some well set up dampers and springs, and a good fast road geometry set up. I've just had the 3 year old suspension replaced on my Tuscan and the car is now transformed; it just grips and grips, has razor sharp turn in, can be driven practically hands-off even on bumpy roads, and doesn't bounce around like a pogo stick. It even feels more comfortable around town, but corners and brakes dead flat; amazing!

I can't understand how they got the spring rates and damper valving so wrong in the factory, but it now feels at least as good as the last Boxter I drove, albeit a shed load quicker!

I would love to love Monaro's, but just can't however much bhp they might have - the words of someone on a tunnel run always rings in my ears "they sound good I suppose, but they still look like a chavved up Calibra", and he weren't wrong biggrin
