Saw a silver Octavia VRS (flying past at 100+ with the blues going!) Saturday night just outside of south Coulsdon.

I saw a dark blue 5 series in Ewell today. He flashed me to allow me to pass on the high street, but on his dash (like a radar detector) emitted a couple of blue flashes
Mmmm haven't seen this one, but have seen and been flashed by a few cars with what sounds like the same fitted Blue Flashing device fitted to the front of the dashboard up againgst the windscreen about the size of two VHS Cassette boxes. The cars have always been less than three years old and usually german, one S4 M4 Around Reading, spotted a few times, either on coming off at Junc 11 or Junc 8/9 going towards the Windsor Road. Then a Passat Saloon coming out of London on the M4 just after the last flyover. Then on the M25 a Passat Estate driving very erractly coming up to the A3 junc coming off braking hard then accerating hard then braking hard, just behind over drivers.

All these cars had a similar Blue Flashing device on the dashbord, either with one or two people, but never pull anyone over or me, even though if they were traffic they would have had reason a few times to do so, if you know what I mean.

I also see a lot of unmarked cars in Central London, random makes, ages and condition flying up and down with a 'Kojak' light sat on the roof, think these tend to be 'Special Forces' i.e. for terroists, but the other ones on the Motorway's get me to be honest, are they police, or are they people posing to be police, or are they a 'Type of Enforcement' but have no right to pull you??

Swiss.

Saw a gun metal grey unmarked Vectra about a month ago in the inside lane about half way between the Reading services and J11.

I was in the outside lane with a Carrera behind me, noticed the three aerials where there should only be one, and the little white lights in the rear window.
I slowed a little (curiosity rather than because I was exceeding the speed limit) and moved into the middle lane.

At this point the Vectra moved in front of me and a red sign came on, alternating [police - stop] together with those little white lights now flashing blue quite a lot. I immediately moved into the inside lane to stop, but the Vectra suddenly sped off, leaving myself and the Carrera driver wondering what to do.

We kept going and last saw the Vectra battling to get off at J11.

Should I have stopped? When I'm told to stop by a member of the BIB I like to comply.

Sounds like either they got a call to something more important, or that you were maybe tickling slightly above the limit and they meant to put up 'Police Slow' to let you know to ease off a touch, but clicked the knob round one too many and ended up with the Stop sign..... Its easy done!!

Had to pull over for an unmarked gunmetal grey 5 series (de-badged) in Windsor earlier this week. Has very discreet blue strobe LED's on the ends of the wing mirrors, in the front grill and in the reversing lights - also had an LED communication sign on the rear parcel shelf..........

Earlier this week I was passed by a Dark Red Ford Galaxy on blues and twos, was a bit surprised when I saw it tearing up the A3.

Came a bit close to meeting the driver of a Skoda RS this evening on the way back from Goodwood. Hooning along the A331 from the Hogs back to Camberley and clocked him just as I came along side (a lot faster than he was travelling)......thankfully he just wagged his finger as I went past!

Silver Skoda RS with giveaway LED blocks on the bumpers............

Well it isn't our patch, but I am sure alot of us go out to play in Sussex - I had heard a few reports they have an unmarked Fireblade running around the countryside. I did ask a Sussex motorbike cop, who confirmed this. But cops are known to keeps myths going, so I don't put much weight to his word, but did say to look out for a grey one.

Anyone seen the said bike?

It sounds like some of the bigger vehicles mentioned on here (such as the Galaxy) are probably not unmarked police vehicles. Apparently, alot of the Chiefs in the Fire Service have their own vehicles kitted out with blues and twos for when they respond to major fire incidents. I've seen a Nissan X-Trail responding on blues and twos that was fire-service related.
I know that in Hampshire at least, we tend to just have the Octavias and a couple of Volvos still (iirc), and the Skodas are fairly easy to spot.
