unmarked police cars

They do indeed have the dot and 36 and then three letters.
No idea why it's 36 (they are not loan cars), but it's probably the same logic that there are 43 forces in England and Wales and Surrey's force number is 45?
I'll see if I can find out why 36.
All other forces I am aware of wear the force numbers, hence all my ones used to wear 33 when I was a Leicestershire BiB. I was rather confused, I do hope that there are no fail to stops that take you to Norfolk as it might get confusing No idea why it's 36 (they are not loan cars), but it's probably the same logic that there are 43 forces in England and Wales and Surrey's force number is 45?

To be honest only a chopper would really see them and we can never get one!Plus if I've made it to Norfolk in a pursuit, I'll have more things to worry about...... like my nose bleed
SV64 BJJ who I seem to see on a daily basis nowadays (luckily not behind me with blues on) just after Winchester services on the M3 northbound. Usual hunting ground for it.
Everyone was making a bit of progress tonight after being caught up for hours in the M27 carnage so rich pickings I guess

I was passed on the m25 this morning by a white (transit?) van, blacked out rear windows and concealed blue lights (lights all flashing). Must have been police I think, but maybe an undercover vehicle rather than traffic ?
Probably TST on a call out (Tactical support team)Not unmarked, but I hope the lorry driver was alright in the accident tonight on the M3 near Hook northbound.
Looked like it had literally driven off the road straight into the trees, could only see the rear of the lorry really. IT is pretty windy out there so dont know if that was the cause.
Fingers crossed no one hurt. Bib and Highways agency were on scene when I went past

You tell that to the black cab who was pulled over in front of 16 Waterloo Place on Tuesday afternoon as we stood and watched.
It had these stickers in both the front and rear window
Blue lights in the indicators and a small blue strobe on the dash.
I walked right up to it to have a look (as wasn't sure if it was legit), bloke was wearing jeans and a tee shirt, radio in hand.....
Would have been around 4:00PM if you want to check your logs.
But yea could have been total bks

I can assure you whatever you saw was not what you think. How do you know what force? How do you know it was even police? Could it be the cab was pulled over for having unauthorised blue lights fitted to it?
Whatever the case police dont use hackney carriages with fake TFL stickers to do anything. And your comment below amused me too

Don't think I wrote that quite right,
The Black Cab had been stopped by the car with the blue lights and TFL stickers.
You're right I don't know what force, I don't know who they were and I don't know what they were up to.
But, it was in central London, the car was using blue lights and using them make themselves known to all around them, so easy to come to the conclusion it was a Met unmarked car.
