Going around the roundabout next to TVP, German plates. First one I've seen.

Those look like British plates to me. They never made an E36 M3 estate, so its either just a tarted up 328, or someone has built one from a crashed M3.

If they are actually german plates (I think they are the wrong colour), and its LHD, then it could be a BMW special.

Its at max a 320, at worst a 316...


Twin zorst hints toward a 320/325....

P.S. Looks like a 98/99 model 323 sport touring or 328 sport touring in Techno Violet. Not that rare...

I concede, although I haven't seen one before I think a 328 is more likely.

I cleaned up the images and reversed the negative to bring up the reg plate a bit clearer...

Note: If a bmw looks like an M3 it doesn't necessarily mean it is one, it's the oldest trick in the book.

It's now looking like it could be a genuine 'home made' M3 estate (albeit incorrectly registered):
