So the Ginetta Owners Club ?
Discussion
(missing my point) there is still a magazine even with a front cover, it could even be printed off in a A5 format, to be stapled and folded and slotted next to all your other issues. It could be twice as fat with rubbish or informative stuff but the key thing is you are the one printing it off and there is no postage. Two massive savings for the club.
One would hope that being as most of the information and photograph are sent electronically and can be done at midnight when the wife is in bed (like most of the post on here!) you would get more information than you would really need. Unlike other comments that are made above, the club still exist and runs normally (of course with the exception off the leader and his pet).
oups... am I taping out loud??

I heard that Ginetta Owners club web site is switched off, so I guess there should be more owners/members looking at this web site. If you have a discussion point or rant and rave why not have a quick go on here before the Ginetta AGM. The plus side to here, it is anonymous even the club officials and organizers can post there inner views without fear off a backlash within the club. So where does the club goes from here, I have posted some of my views and thoughts above or other threads on here recently but don't get much constructive feed back I am hoping that there is more than three people out there at this moment in time.
The ginetta owners club website is not switched off, in fact it's better than ever.
This is the problem you see, you suggest posting anonymously on here but why? If you've got something constructive to say why would you want to keep your identity secret? The only reason i can see for it is if actually what you were trying to do is cause an arguement / slander people but how is that helping. if you've got something to say get to the AGM and say it.
if you are not prepared to go along and voice your opinion that how can you moan. Also if you are not a member of the club what do you care?
As a member of the club i'm getting tired of this now, it's a case of put up or shut up. You coming to the AGM?

Mr Winner needs to join the GOC before he can attend the AGM....
I too am getting tired of the club-bashing. If members are unhappy about stuff, my suggestion is that they write to the Newsmag editor - he seems to be desperate to get members involved.
If I am not happy, I write to the club chairman and other officers as appropriate - if they don't like the heat, they usually leave the kitchen anyway.

I understand it is being updated and when it comes back on line i am sure it will be very good.
Secondly, I am not nocking the GOC, if you have read any of my comments, they have all tried to be constructive for the benefit for the club and members. I prefer to be anonymous so it doesn't cloud the point I am making (doesn't matter who makes a comment but what the comment says) I would be extremely happy with many people posting comments that the club in good health, and have many members telling me that I am talking out off my ars.. but we all know this isn't the case I was hoping for constructive comment or criticisms and for people/members to have something to think about before the Ginetta AGM. The case of put up or shut up is not the only two options, there is CHANGE . Some of the older members are reluctant to renew the membership because the Newsmag is full of winging, complaining articles from the chairman and its editor (he sounds like a teacher being dictorial towards to his pupils). There wasn't even any photos in Newsmag 112? 113? my friend was disgusted when he showed me.
All I want to achieve is a constructive points for people to consider and comment upon.

you are talking out your arse the winner.
the site was updated last week and is a hive of activity, but as you are not a memeber you wouldn't know.
Can't understand your interest, if you want a say join the club... simple.
As for constructive maybe you should re-read your first post here...

Glad to hear the GOC website is up and running in his new format. Re-read my first post and you are right, the leaders do have to go!! What an asset you would be to the club with your quick responses, if you only had a constructive comment.
I must be the only one who thinks the owners club is in need of some new blood injected in.
The members must be happy in the direction the club is going so..(ho-hum!) must admit I am a bit disappointed.

You're absolutely right, James and many others like him WOULD BE a great asset to the club, in fact as a paid up member expressing his point of view he IS a great asset to the club.
In an earlier post you suggested there was a 3rd option to "put up" or "shut up" (i.e.)change. Instead of expecting other people to do your dirty work why dont you initiate some of the changes yourself by putting up for the committee? I'm sure you'd have no problem getting voted on if your ideas are as good as you suggest. Which brings us back to 2 options "put up" or "shut up". In your case, may I be so bold as to suggest the latter.
"the winner" - perhaps a change of name is required (again?), sure given your stance the piston heads Ginetta community could come up with something a little more appropriate.
Can understand people wishing to remain anonymous in some circumstances - but in this case you obviously have no intention of joining the club, so why should you bother trying to hide yourself. Indeed why should you even bother wasting your time, or are you only doing it in the best interests of your 'friend'? Would like you to answer because I am some what confussed.. but hey I know you won't bother....so why the hell have I?

I don't know whether to laugh or swear when I read the comments on here, I just end up being in dismay.
My one and only objective in my postings which if you actually bother to read them is to ask for constructive comment on any aspect of the owners club or anything relative to Ginetta. I don't have all the answers, I haven't posted all the questions, but trying to get feed back in any constructive format is impossible. I was under the assumption that there maybe people out there who can have a constructive discussion. If i am wrong, I am happy for someone to tell me that I am wrong, but give the reason why I am wrong and to I have a discussion, not you are full of sh... but back it up with no reason why.
The club in general is very low in members and appears to be spiraling downwards, something needs to happen to benefit the existing members, new and old and try to rekindle the interest in past members and still owners of cars. I feel the current editor is too dictatorial, condescending and blinkered to his and the leaders view which doesn't appear to sit happy with all the members .
The fact you appear not to like me expressing my view and trying to quash any alternative thinking is also detrimental to the club and its members. As i said before the club should be for the benefit of the members. Your actions in squashing and being very condescending on my view will be looked upon to be further put downing by their supporters.
Fortunately, you few do not represent the club, freedom for speech is good for all, but you lot seemed to have your own issues. I want to apologize for your actions on your behalf to everybody out there, your views do not represent the views of the majority of the club in your condescending stance, the majority of interested people will see through your comments to be off a small minded nature.
For Mr gee20 no i am not Croft and Mr g32turbo things are never that bad to take that extra step .
I THINK I WASH MY HANDS OF ALL OF THIS.
If you had though through of any of my posting you would have realized that I may have been a member for longer than all of you lot put together and know a vast amount of members, owners and officials but I though it would be nice to talk anonymously to get a constructive independent view.
How disappointed I am.

If I have understood correctly you are not (/no longer) a member of the GOC - then why do you care? You have obviously got some strong views, so if you do care why aren't you a member of the club?
Is there something wrong with my logic - or have I missed something blindingly obvious?
Surely if you want change you do it from within, not by proding with a stick from the outside.

Sorry you feel that way Mr the winner. I agree its not nice people making snide remarks when you're only trying to do your best but isnt that exactly what you are doing with your comments about those in the hot seat at the GOC.
As an ex member of the GOC I dont really want to discuss its merits in an open forum like PH, Its nothing to do with me anymore. If I was that bothered I'd rejoin and discuss it on the closed GOC forum where I knew my views were aimed at the right people.
As for getting anonymous discussions going, you have already shown why that is a very poor idea by using terms such as "lap dog, dictatorial, condescending and blinkered" to describe individuals who cannot remain anonymous due to you naming their positions with the club.
You obviously have some axe to grind with those in charge at the GOC but please refrain from grinding it here on PH.

I agree with Tony and James on this one - while I don't always agree with the direction the GOC committee is taking, I respect that they running the show to the best of their abilities, and I also respect that they may have different ideas on how to develop the club than I do. If I cared that much I would get more involved, but have other interests these days, working for sprinting and hillclimbing in Scotland.
I served on the committee for some years as Secretary, I started the Self Help scheme (can't take credit for the idea - it came from the Sports Six Club), resurrected the annual dinner at Leamington Spa, and more recently kicked off the Ginetta Ecosse Challenge at Kames (where were you all this year guys - scared of a little snow?). I honestly believe that this experience gives me the right to comment on how things are done now.
I have also now taken the step of 'confessing' my identity - it was only really a game to start with, to see how long it took someone to guess - I am more than happy to discuss things Ginetta with anyone with a genuine interest in the marque, but I am not interested in dealing with someone who quite clearly has a private agenda, which seems to be to slag off the current GOC committee at every opportunity without making any constructive comment to the contrary, other than perhaps suggesting that they need to go (which I don't necessarily agree with, I hasten to add!)
Mr Winner - do the decent thing. Confess your identity, rejoin the GOC and offer to actually do something. If you have so much Ginetta experience, how about some interesting Newsmag articles as a starter?

I've recently bought a Ginetta and on trying to find a nice active community to be a part of, all I am met with is the Ginetta OC home page saying pay £25 for a magazine you don't want only to find out that the forum is as dead as the others.
If you have a really big friendly active online community then why don't you do like every single other owners club and open it up so people can see it? Most owners clubs have a free membership that allows you to view MOST of the forum but for instance you cannot post for sale adds or can't get into members only sections, hence you can see its a good useful community and you sign up to get the added benefits.
Right now I don't want to pay £25 to find its a waste of time. Therefore I wont and so that is a potential member the club has just lost.

I understand your points Luke but its something that will continue to go that way if members follow your attitude.
You've got to appreciate that Ginetta only produces a small amount of cars and therefore doesnt have the endless supply of idiots which I think is a good thing!
What you will find is a good bunch of people who will endeavour with tones of resources should you need it. But you have to ask and be involved.
Remember with everything in life its about putting in and taking out.
