Great to read a review of one of my esoteric dream cars.
I think it would be easier to live with than a Elise!

I really like the G4 and have for years.

Caterham could have competition with their 21GTO if they toned it down price wise because £40,000 is a little much, lost all the carbon fibre bits and changed the R500 engine for something a little less expensive

Awesome looking car! Hope the hard top version looks as nice as the coupe, though.

Is there really a hard top version out there?

How much? How long is the wait? Will it drive poorly becuase it is not a coupe (flex)?

Seen some pictures of the hardtop G4 (confidential).

The hardtop G4 looks as nice as the coupe G4. I will predict that the coupe G4 will be a car of the past.

The G4 coupe is definitely a better looking car than the G20.

Interesting how both have virtually the same motor, yet the G4 is more drivable.

Many years ago I remember the G4 being tested by Cars magazine. I loved it then and do now. I currently run an Ultima and have no intention to change it but the G4 has some strange attraction. If I did I would have to fit a BDA or at least an all steel Twin Cam. Imagine the noise, pure nostalgia.

I'm interested in your comments kkkaty..

Looks: A matter of opinion, there's not much in it. Although the two are distinctly different. Personally, if I had the money I'd have both and throw in a G12 as well!

Drivability.. Have you driven both of them? I'm interested, because I've got a '27 and a 20R and the 20R is such an improvement over the '27. The chassis has moved forward (a lot) and the new front uprights give a lot more positive feedback and control. I'm looking to get the new uprights fitted to my '27.. I haven't driven a G4, but I'd be interested to see how this compares in terms of chassis and front uprights to the '27 and the 20. I mean the 27 is no brick, ask those who've moved from the race series to other championships...

I'd be interested to hear if you've tried a sorted 4 and 20, both with decent tyres fitted..

To all G4 Fans:

The new long cockpit G4 is now available with a removable hard-top - re-designed screen and soft-top.

We will be exhibiting the car in UK at the NEC Sports Car Show 25th - 26th May. Watch out for a road test comming up in EVO Magazine. Orders now being taken for LHD models. Prices starting from $32,500.00 with a race build model also available.

We consider this to be the most significant development of the G4 since its conception in 1962.
An Ivor walklett 40th Anniversary Limited Edition of 10# cars Worldwide will soon be available. Check out www.goginetta.com for all the latest developments.

I like the site!! Presumably you only deal with customers in the States..

I will admit that I do really like the G4 and G12. It would be interesting to Test Drive a G4 (and of course a G12!) and compare it to the '27 and the '20.

We deal with Worldwide supply of all G4 models.
Mark Walklett who is Trever's son, who still works with Ivor Walklett (Trever's brother and co-founder) raced the G4 in the UK for a few seasons.. he produced a video of his first race with outstanding lap times and indeed out-ran Lotus, Morgan and Porsche on the same track... brilliant to watch except for the fact that the prop-shaft broke with only a few laps to go. A problem which was obviously corrected for the next meeting.
