There's no way a 1.8 Focus did 50mph in 1st and 75mph in 2nd. All you've done is change the spark plugs, you haven't altered the gearing.

If you're suffering power loss is might be worth swapping out the HT leads and coil pack. It's an easy job on the Focus and will only cost £50 for the lot.

Unless it was an auto? When did it last have an ATF flush?
