Bloody hell!
Thank you for this.
I know mpg isn't everything, but that's pretty poor.
Maybe need to have a rethink
I recommend you take the recent comments about very low mpg with a pinch of salt.Thank you for this.

Obviously it depends on your driving style, but to only get low 20's around town and low 30's on longer runs is certainly not typical of what is reasonably achievable.
High 20's - low 30's should be easily achievable around town, with high 30's - low 40's on longer runs. The problem is that some drivers think they are driving economically when in reality they are far from it. It is perfectly possible to make progress and still achieve good fuel consumption, but it is a skill that has to be learned.
Now you dont buy an ST if you want to pootle around everywhere, but there is a balance to be had here and it is understanding that balance.

Yes, fuel economy is very poor in my experience. With lots of short runs I see low 20s, and maybe low 30s on longer journeys. I’m not heavy-footed either.
Cosidering I used to run an rx8 which got 25 mpg on a long run or could drain the 55 litre petrol tank in just over 120 miles if I was having fun. The fuel economy/fun ratio is actually pretty good.Ron240 said:

Was just surprised to see below 30mpg. I had a Megane 275 & would easily see low to mid 30s out of that.
Nice to hear others are getting a more reasonable mpg out of their ST.
I'd echo Ron's comments, my mpg rarely dips below low 30's. Most of my commute is rural B-roads which helps as I'm not sitting in slow moving traffic. Best I've had is 37/38mpg on the motorway at typical motorway speeds (70-80), I reckon low 40s is achievable if you dropped down to 60-70mph on a long run.
Re. door seals, unfortunately it seems to be a minor complaint which crops up on some of the groups from time to time. In fact, I noticed last week one of mine was coming away slightly, currently held up by electrical tape until I get round to doing a proper fix. I probably could try and get Ford to sort under warranty but it's probably less hassle to just fix myself when the weather's a bit dryer.

I fancy the Tangerine Scream too, aiming for the face-lift.
I had a new pre facelift in Sprit Blue then replaced with a new facelift in Tangerine Scream. The facelift model is superior in every way...it looks better, rides better(even on 19" wheels), and has a much nicer interior.
I loved my pre facelift when I had it, but facelift is definitely the one to go for.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that ..
I'm not keen on the look of the latest Focus, and don't really need to be tying up the extra money for the use that it would get.
I'm not overly keen on the Mk.4 either.I'm not keen on the look of the latest Focus, and don't really need to be tying up the extra money for the use that it would get.
Simple solution then buy a facelift Mk.3.
Unless of course I have missed the point of your post?
There's no late low mileage MK3 facelift st-3 estates in tangerine scream currently for sale, which was kind of my point over my last couple of posts.
I did look on carwow to get a price on a new one, but as it's a car to take dog and child to the beach, woods etc I'll only get grumpy when I see it getting dirty and abused. A sub-£20k one will be plenty good enough.

My 2017 mk3 facelift estate in stealth grey with 16000 miles was £19k. We bougbt it in August. How about this?

Private seller, and it's a diesel but it is a Tangerine Scream estate.
