Anyone else planning on getting one of these? At first I was disappointed with the engine choice, but I’ve got over that now and am just looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic thing.

I’ve enquired with the local dealer, but they didn’t really have any info other than what is in the Ford website. Unsure as to when you’ll actually be able to put a deposit down or order / spec the truck, so hopefully there will be more details soon!

Look cool. Are the the 2.2 rather than the 3.2 in the Wildtrak?

No, it’s a new 2.0-litre twin-turbo 4-pot. It’s slightly up on power and torque compared with the 5-cylinder in the Wildtrak, but it still isn’t going to be particularly swift! I’m pretty sure that with the 2019 changes for the Ranger, this new engine will become an option for the Wildtrak and Limited trucks too - it’s certainly the case in Australia.

Excellent. Got any up to date pictures?

Aha! Complete with the Ford Motor Company trick of reversible number plates. (So same photo can appear left or right hand drive)

Only if you're looking to buy a DROF though.

Has anyone heard anything on a release date yet?

Ford website still saying "summer 2019" and no info from my local dealer yet?

Nope, still nothing. Dealer had absolutely no idea when I enquired previously.

Seriously thinking of ditching the M3 and part ex'ing the company Wildtrak in for one.
Same as you, waiting for info.

Getting closer... details of the Ranger facelift announced today. Raptor only mentioned briefly, but still says on sale mid-2019.

Also, if you want to tow some things, it seems the new 2.0-litre engine is indeed up to the job. hehe

Tempted by one of these. Currently driving a Mustang GT and having looked at American Picks (F150, Dodge Ram) they are just too big for where I live.

So that's £48835.20 before any options (although might not be a lot to add on looking at the standard specification).

Fifty g's is a lot of money.

Shame they didn't just drop the Focus RS engine in it. Wishful thinking.

My deal with Ford is up this time next year. Think it'll probably be another Mustang for me at the price this Raptor is coming out at.

Yep, it is a shame. The US Ranger gets a 270bhp version of the RS engine, but I guess we’ll have to wait until the next generation of Ranger until we get something similar.

So, turns out these went on sale on Feb 25th and supply is very limited. Despite frequently calling my local dealer, I only found this little nugget out yesterday, by which time everything was sold. mad Spent this morning calling dealers all over the UK and have managed to pick up a cancelled order for a blue one, arriving in July. phonebounce

Everyone I spoke to said they were getting two examples and both were sold. Most weren't even taking further orders as any additional cars won't be appearing until at least December, apparently. eek In fact, the dealer who is supplying mine effectively had only the one car as their second one will be a demo. Specs are as I suspected and the Raptor is not classed as a commercial vehicle.

Here's a link to the facelift Ranger range, including Raptor:
