Hi, 2 years ago on my Ford Focus 1.1 Navigator (Eco Boost) I noticed the fan running excessively after the engine had switched off and found the degas coolant pipe was split covering the entire engine in coolant fluid.

I didn't receive any warning lights and the Temp gauge was sitting central, showing normal temp. I had a warranty repair done in Oct 2016 and all seemed well. Unfortunately the warranty ran out in March 2017.

Now, the exact same problem has happened again, despite the repair only being 2 years old. The pipe has split, coolant drained and even then, the temp gauge showed a normal reading.

I'm thinking that it was a bit of a gash repair, I pointed out that the Temp gauge didn't show a fault and there were no warning lights when it went into its initial repair at Ford and was assured the issues were fixed..

Surely with no coolant I should have received a warning of some sort or a high temperature indication on the dash.

Ive attached a pic, ( I had refilled the coolant so I could identify the leak)

Do I have grounds that Ford have done a rubbish repair? They want £51 just to look under the bonnet.

Can anyone identify what the actual hose / pipe is called, the whole assembly and what part number it is with Ford (UK) ?

The pipe in question is called a "de-gas hose" by Ford.
