Has anyone fitted roof bars to an S-Max with a panoramic roof?

Mine is an Mk2 56 plate and all the information I can find is on the Mk1 with panoramic roof and not sure what would be good for my model? Slightly worried about cracking the roof!

Also, I have noticed there are some little grommet holes on the top of the frame where the front and back doors are and none of the roof bars I have looked at had anything that worked with those... any help much appreciated.

I have a '13 with the panoramic roof, and recently (few months) ago fitted roof bars. I found them on Facebook, which came off a similar car. There are small plastic rectangular covers over each door which when removed reveal a recess the roof bars fit into (including a threaded hole to receive a bolt from the bars).

Does that help?

Thanks for the response - the challenge I have is that all the information is for the Mk1 which you have... and struggling to find anything for the newer MkII that I have frown

These guys have always been good for us, the Thule ones on their website say "with glass roof or without fixing points (these bars attach around the door frame)"

If in doubt give them a call, I know I had to ages ago (can't remember what for) and they were very helpful.

Just to close the circle on this. Spoke to roofbox and they say any roof bar which fits the flat roof will work with the panoramic roof. Just need to make sure you check the load rating in the manual.

Sorry, saw that you said '56 plate. I assume you meant '66 then?

I have a 65 reg S-Max, which doesn't have roof rails...can I install roof rails first or is that only an optional extra when ordering the car new?
As I need to get roof bars on for roof box and bike rack.
Thank you
