What does the fiesta with the 998cc turbo engine weigh ? Used car bit of the local Main dealer could only offer a vague figure of around 1500kg which seems like a lot. Figures on the interweb seem to vary enormously.

If looking for a used version is there a poverty spec variant with less stuff fitted which would be lighter ?

1500 KG is the fully laden figure.

I think from memory the Autocar figure for their 125 PS 3 door 1.0 road test car, was around the 1130KG mark.

BTW, the Zetec version will probably be lightest as its the standard entry level spec. I'd imagine that the ST Line/Titanium X versions with their bigger wheels and extras weigh a bit more.

Thanks for that 1500 as max permitted makes more sense. I will go back to the Dealer and see if I can find a more informed person.

PS, Addendum.

I had a sit myself in a 17 plate (Mk7) 998cc Fiesta Ecoboost Zetec on Sunday at a Ford dealer. Really impressed.
BTW I found out on line the quoted weight of the Mk7 is 1101KG. I thought you were referring to the MK8 which is circa 1130KG.

Its got all the stuff you'd want in a modern car like a heated front screen, USB/Aux/Bluetooth etc, but none of the additional crap you could do without like lane assist/auto wipers etc.

Also I felt the seats on the old shape Zetec were much more supportive than the current Titanium X which I also sat in. Its one on my bucket list tbh, if I buy a much newer car than my current shed.
