Hi All
I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong section.

I have a 2010 Ford Focus S with the powershift box. It has full service history and is immaculate. I'm getting transmission malfunction messages and the gearbox was very jumpy, wouldn't change properly and would sometime loose drive. The car had full service history, but no note on any oil change for the gearbox. My normal garage did an oil and filter change on the box for me and everything was great for around 100 miles. I then started getting amber warnings which would clear, and a couple of red warnings which also cleared in around 30 seconds, but it still drove perfectly!

Today I've reached 180 miles and the box has started to play up again, but physically. There is a constant fault code of adaptive learning not completed and also a couple of others which tell me about a solenoid being stuck off or inoperative.

The dealer has quoted up to 7K to sort it!

Now, the other part of this story is that someone has recently jump started the car, and I suspect it could have damaged a module in the TCM. I'm far from a Technician and could really do with some advice from those of you who are much more technical. It's my intention to send it to a local Company, Driver Transmissions in Birmingham, but it would be really nice to know what may be going on. I'm thinking it's not mechanical because surely it wouldn't drive?
