1989 Escort/Fiesta wipers.

Just popped over from the TVR S forum to see if anyone here knows ought about Circa 1989 Ford Escort or Fiesta wiper stalk operation or functions.
If so...please post as I have a question.

Hi Richard,
The question is did your 89 Fiesta have an intermittent windscreen wipe operation?

My stalk is from a 1989 Escort/Fiesta and has graghics on it to show operation as follows:

Bottom. Intermittent wipe
Up one. off/Park
Up two. Normal speed wipers
up two. Manic speed wipers

I am on my second stalk and on neither does the intermittent wipe actually operate anything!
I am not alone as most TVR S1 and early S2's seem to show the graphic on the stalk but nought happens.Suspect that no contact to perform the task was ever present.

Think back...Any ideas???

Tim,

The Fiesta was very basic and did not have intermittent operation of the wipers. I'm fairly sure the stalk did not make any false claims to it either.

The Ka I have been driving recently (Y reg) has a similar LHS stalk but does have an intermittent function.
