Hi all, looking for a little help from the experienced amongst you

My son has just purchased a 2001 Ford Puma and as with all young things (and in my case old things!) he wants to change the side indicator repeaters from orange to a smoked version. He has purchased the smoked version but without paying for them to be done, how do you get the old ones out. They seem to be a pull out unit but is there a special tool to pull them out with? I tried prising them with a blade but I'm afraid of damaging the wing and he would KILL me if I were to scratch his pride and joy

I looked at pushing them out from inside the wing but what a palaver that would be removing the wing lining etc!!!

Sure this is simple but as I am also it is proving not to be.
Any advice more than gratefully received.

I have a black puma and have change my indicators to smoked. Way I did it was turn the wheel on the side that you are doing so that the back of the wheel (nearest the indicator) is furthest in the wheels arch. Then you can 'simily' pull out the lining no need to undo it just pull it over the bits holding it in. Would be good if someone held the liner back while you put your hand inside the wing and just push the indicator out otherwise you arm gets squashed between the liner and the metal (not good).

Thanks for the info. I have discovered since posting that if you push on the indicator lens and twist the whole unit just pops out. Hey presto easy change.
Thanks for the advice anyway.

Sorry for the delay in responding, been away. Didn't mean to imply that it did, just that it worked on his

Mind you thank god it did as I had already tried prizing the liner out and it was not going to be easy!!

Thanks also for the web link. My son now has it on his PC and will no doubt introduce himself when he is up to speed.

Thanks again for your help and advice
