Just as I get my Puma sorted out with help from members my escort starts going wrong.
I’ve got problems with my escort, feels a bit rough when accelerating above 30mph. I’ve changed plugs, leads and coil pack, smoother at lower speed but starts to feel like its pulling back at higher speed. It’s a 97 (R) 1.8 Si with 65K. Any idea’s anyone?
Similiar problem as others have had but I've changed the parts they suggested with other members problems.

Have you checked / replaced the crank case breather and checked the rubber hoses on the pipework for it?

An air leak around there will bleed air into the inlet manifold.
Might be worth a shot as they were prone to failure.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look. Took it in to a tuning centre today, they complained about the Bosch plugs (new by the way!) and changed them to Motorcraft as they’ve had problems in the past. All readings OK but the problem still there (another £60 out of pocket). They did say if there was a problem with the leads or the plugs previous, I will have to leave the battery off for the night to clear any memory. The Ford brain is very much like a Freeview or satellite box, you need to drop the power now and again!!
Thanks again
