I agree with Dave, none of those particularly spring to mind as design faults the mileage and wear on the vehicle would be a fairer explanation.

A2Z, it could be the wheel bearings, that's what made that noise on mine...

Does the noise get worse up to 60mph, but die out if you go any faster than that?

Also, if you've driven through any deep water, that makes the bearings go apparently...

I've got the ST220, and it impressed my friend so much that earlier this week he bought an ST TDCi. We went out in it today. Economy was good, with 42+ on the motorway being seen. It wasn't quite as quick as I expected, but the pull in third and fifth gear was impressive. Apparently Bluefin really transforms it!

Regarding the sport suspension and the 18" wheels - the ride isn't the best, but it's certainly better than in my old Octavia vRS, and body roll is very well controlled. It's a comfortable enough mile-muncher, but you might be better going for a non-ST spec if big mileage comfort is your thing!

I have a 115 TDI with 55k on it (2005 vehicle). When last in the (Ford) garage I mentioned that it 'whistles' a lot - they couldnt find anything. Well - some times it even whistles for a few seconds AFTER I have stopped the engine. Suggestions are it is the turbo but so far there has ben nil problems with performance. Of course sometimes there is no sound and you can bet this would happen if I took it back to the garage. So any ideas would be good before its out of warranty. Private Hire Driver so it gets quite a thrashing.
