Don't seem much of a secret now...

Even if the ST-500 was an even more high specced ST-3, with a little more power or something, i'd consider it.

Loved my RS, really loved my TVR's, but really really love my ST, she rocks!

Well, the spec sounds lovely, but I'd suggest a modest power hike, if only to trump Vauxhall. 250 BHP is a nice round number, it's not excessive but it places it up at the top of the hot-hatch power pile with the Mazda3 MPS. Surely achievable without resorting to beefier hardware, and the existing brakes and chassis seem more than capable of handling a bit more oomph.

Focus ST 500 Specification
The Focus ST 500 is based on the Focus ST-3 with the following enhancements:-

Black metallic paint and Sport appearance pack (Silver side, bonnet, roof and boot stripes) - echoing the Ford GT-40 1-2-3 win at Le Mans in 1966 where the winning car featured the black and silver stripe livery.

Unique Red Leather interior seat trim and floor mats-This trim will never be offered again on future Focus ST models.

Exterior and Interior ST 500 badge- Badges will be dealer fit items.

Visibilty Pack- Auto headlights, rain sensing wipers and auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Options- All options currently available for ST-3 will be available for the ST 500.

Basically this is a run out special edition as the face lift ST will be available early next year.

what about the power upgrade?

The current ST production is being discontinued in Sept/October and rumoured that the next ST won't be launched until the end of 2008/early 2009.

I wonder what the difference in cost will be between the ST500 and buying an ST3 with the options (not necesarilly OEM fitted)!!

Chris Docherty brings it out to play with us now and again! It is beautifully prepared inside and out! Probably £60k worth of work and drivetrain in the car. Its mid blowingly quick for a Fiesta, in a straight fight it can beat a GT2 Porsche and a Cup car too!
