Hi,

I want to check the rear brake shoes on SWMBOs 1.25 Fiesta.

I know the hub nut mustn't be undone and I believe the correct method is to slacken off the brake cable, remove the 4 bolts from behind the brake backplate and pull the whole assembly off.

When I try this the drum comes out about 20 mm, revealing some of the brake shoe, but it seems to be stuck fast at that point.

Am I missing something or can I really apply force to pull the thing off?

Also, what is the torque setting for the hub bolts?

Thanks

Sorry to take so long to reply, you have done eveything correctly it can only be stuck so a mild amount of force may be required.
