Not VIXEN but a pre X flow engine being man handled in and out of my Cortina was a bit of a humping around for a 70 plus person like me
,,Good effort Keith
.Being used overall to Hillman Imp engines i find that more enjoyable to deal with than heavy lumps of cast iron.

Certainly wouldn`t turn my nose up of one of those Reuben V8 Griffith creations though..

Yes David quite a job for a 73 year old getting the flywheel back in with no help ratchet strapped it from under bonnet till I got some bolts in, same with gear box front and rear and trolley jack under centre still a dodgy game while laid on you back with no help, glad I lined cluch plate well slid straight in to sprigot, heavy thing them type 9 /5 speed boxes, according to the supplyers the starter is the right one for the v6 2.8 colone , and same from burtons for the ringear, it’s never been so quiet on startup so keeping fingers crossed.

Good turnout of TVRs, Keith, but that tangerine one stands out head and shoulders wink so glad you went with that colour.

Keith, David... there's a similar 'lost and found' thread underway here about a Tuscan V8, now in Germany... and a previous British owner has just come forward. I wonder if it too will run to 36 pages...

The more the better hopefully it will have a story to tell, like a lot of older TVRs , will look out for that one, shame it’s gone out of the country Getting quiet rare in this country nowadays, I know mine gets a lot of attention at the shows

Looking forward to Micheal`s posts of the progress of the V8 Tuscan...

In the 1980 picture of WFD in Brown i see my #VW Variant parked in front..Just cannot see the full registration to see if it is still around..
I used it to tow the trailer and Mason Stiletto to events.Well just a few as it turned out..
Coming back from Lydden Hill to Brentwood on the M2 the engine expired and it was sold off as was..Really liked that VW .
Nice to have these sites to see now and again your past coming back to you!

Getting back to Micheal in Germany ,it too would be great to know of the owners pre my ownership in 1980 of WFD 400H. I know the ownership one before me of the guy called Gareth that sold it to me from the Hartswood estate in Brentwood ..He was the one who had it re-trimmed and painted Brown ..I think he said it had been painted blue when he purchased it..
Keep meaning to enquire at DVLA for addresses of previous owners for Keith but never get around to doing it.
Anyone know of any easier way to do so ..I think it would have to be the registered owner able to make enquiries though.

Anyone out there up on electrics ,my old Bosch startor motor had to small leads one for starter selnoid and one for ignition live apparently ‘this one is for coil ballast resistor , the new starter has only one lead to the selnoid, when I tried to start car starter turned over but car wouldn’t start so I connected the ballast resister wire up to an ignition live car started and runs fine, is there anyone out there can tell me if that’s ok to do?
No it's not ok to do

The circuit needs checking through for what voltages are present where and when

If there is no ballast resistor in the circuit the engine should have started without the ballast resistor circuit over-ride cable being connected to the starter solenoid

There is a possibility that the ignition supply from ignition switch to ignition coil has a problem, the ignition supply might not be present when the key is turned to the crank position

You in connecting the cable that used to connect to the starter solenoid to an ignition supply would solve a problem like the above

There is also a possibility that the ignition circuit is of the ballast resistor type

It's out with the multi-meter time unless you like living on the edge
