Rubbish.

Still, could always find out who's making the next one and try and sway the Production Team..

I thought it was worth watching (it featured a 456!), even if Quantin Wilson thinks an Elise has 1.6litres?? A 996 has 550bhp with a 160 mph top speed???

Funny old mix of cars from the expected Ferrari, Lambo, AC, Aston & Porsche to a load of gumph about crapy yank bangers, a small bit on Lotus and some old boys in their 50/60's jags.

I was a bit suprised as they showed Vettes they did not show a similarily quick, powerful and expensive Cerb or Tuscan??

I think I saw this on discovery about six months ago. All they did was get QW to do a voice over replacing the grating yank who did the version I saw previously.

This program was made for the yank market hence the iffy content and the lack of Tivs.

mumble.. mumble... bloody cheapskates coundn't be bothered to make their own program... mumble... mumble...

Yes, I was waiting for the TVRs too. But Lotus Elises? What the *** were they doing there?

The Jags were beautiful - but the only 'supercar' Jag, the XJ 220 - wasn't mentioned.

NB There's a silver XJ220 in East Anglia - two sightings of it that I know of, including one in my rear view mirror earlier this year. When you've got an XJ220 up your chuff, even our convoy of Griffith, Tuscan and 911 seemed a bit ordinary...

What a let down, no F50, McLaren F1, XJ220, Tivs etc. And that sound track! The cars' engines would have been enough. I'd definitely have liked to have heard more of that Cobra.

IF you look at the cars on offer, the fact that it was a S1 Elise and he was talking about the "new" Elise, and the "new" Shelby car, I'd say it was probably made in about 1997 (just guessing mind).

I too thought it was very heavily US-biased, but didn't make the connection that Quentin might simply have been employed as a voice-over artist / narrator to read out an American script to anglicise an American programme. That would explain a lot.

The only good thing that I can say about that entire show is that Murcielago in Black is probably the best looking sports car I have ever seen.

Ah. I forgot the Murcielago was in the programme. That kind of stuffs my guess of 1997 then.

Maybe they shot some extra footage and added it to the archive, just to keep (slightly) up to date,

I've got to say it did look like the Murcielago (drool, drool) footage was added in afterwards. It wouldnt suprise me one bit if this was originally made for video and Ch 5 bought the rights off a video production company thats on its last legs...

They seemed obsessed with 0-60 times, but overlooked that most new and old TVRs would have trounsed most of them.

It baffles me when supercar programmes come on tv, or articles written in mags/papers, and TVR rarely get a mention!
I mean, whats the difference between a Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche, and TVR? The build quality I guess....
So even if that IS true. So what!! If you want solid build quality, buy a VW or Volvo.

What ARE the true ingredients that make a supercar?

Main difference is global availability. No point in making a TV programme that is going to be networked around the world if the car that comes out on top for value-for-money (non-TVR owners can argue amonst themselves, we know the truth) isn't available in your country, i.e., the USA.
