Why has this not sold?

This Tuscan has been advertised everywhere for ages, but not sold.

It looks good and appears to offer excellent value for money when compared against a non Cat C car. Is the seller's reputation really that bad that this car is virtually unsellable for anything approaching a sane price?

I am not sure why people slag this guy off???
He has more salvage spares than most.
He is prepared to pay more for TVR salvage than many
He has repaired a lot of cars and made a crust keeping them on the road
The car in the pics looks clean?
Too many non car builders seem to find that someone who maybe isn't the best at writing or spelling must not be able to offer a reasonable product at a reasonable price.
personally I find it quite satisfying that so much TVR stuff is safe in the NE away from self-righteous southerners who tend to forget that TVR was always a working mans sports car!!

I'd missed that. I guess the original engine was trashed in the accident and that's all they had lying around. That wouldn't overly bother me because I'd always have an eye on some serious engine turning and the starting point makes little different to the overall cost.Do we know anything about this car? How bad was the accident?

Possibly, maybe... but I think I vaguely recall a thread a few months back from a PH customer of a TVR breakers in NE England who purchased an engine with some several thousand miles less than when the original owner sold the same car for breaking??? I could of course be mistaken about that thread/ dealer/ breakers and the whole incident coming to light after the engine had been sold and cash taken
Some garages have good reputations and some don't. At the end of the day, you pay your money and you take your chance. The PH TVR community as a whole have a fairly balanced and broad opinion about several dealers and garages. There are some that stand out... for different reasons. I do wonder though, that if it was being sold by Fernhust/ Agger et al in the same claimed condition, whether it would still be for sale??? I guess that reputation can mean a lot to some.

He's not a dealer though..he's principally a scrap yard who sells TVR parts and a few cars which are repaired..he earns his crust. Not defending anyone and certainly not comparing him to a franchise dealer who have greater overheads, more staff to pay etc etc..Some garages have good reputations and some don't. But. I Have seen the guy get slagged off for his growing monopoly on the salvage end of the market.
He buys and sells and generally has the bits people want..and he buys them off companies / insurance companies to sell on, repair and re-cycle. These purchases are all in an open market
As with any salvage operator go in with your eyes open, HE LIVES IN BLYTH, Which in the NE has a reputation in itself.
But in reality you shouldn't slag anyone off that is serving a niche..
In years to come you all will be Thankfull of this service..not many new spares are being made...The spares worry with the later more bespoke cars will become a greater problem as time marches on. The placcy and metal tower crane bits in reality are an irrelevance, Its the bespoke switches, engine spares, dash binnacles etc etc that are going to see late cars off the road for longer periods whilst spares are found..
Perhaps its more telling of today's typical TVR enthusiast that they would sooner pay a lot more for the same product from the likes of Fernhurst!! When in reality its all the same pool of cars out there going round and round!!
