Went away on Saturday for a weeks holiday, Sunday evening playing football I dislocated my knee cap and after 2 days of walking around at about 1mph I decided to come home. Couldn't drive the Chimaera home as it was my left leg I hurt and I couldn't physically get it in the car, let alone press the clutch. Consequently had to drive my dad's C180 home following my Chim, that's just made me feel a hundred times worse.....

Sure this story must have a moral in it.

Chris, at home, bored, with nothing to do.

it's now in plaster pending another hospital visit tomorrow, hopefully they can sort it so it won't happen again.
FOUR weeks without TVRing?! How will I manage if that happens to me!

did it go out or in (your knee that is)
i think you can have the muscle shortened
or a grove cut in you knee
or lot of weights to build up the muscle on the inside of your leg by your knee.
if this is your first time they get easier to do after this the second time i did it i was just picking some thing up, its that easy

It went out, the Nurse thought they could shorten the 'bits' that hold the knee cap in place so that it would be less likely to pop out agan but will find out tomorrow. The timing is really bad though as I had lots planned for the summer and an important fitness assessment coming up. I might invest in a cheap auto gearbox car for a couple of months (with TVR in temp. storage).
We'll see.
Cheers for the support!

And leave it all alone and unused...!! If sure it would be better off driven occasionally, perhaps you could ask a friend to look after it for you...

Don't know if this will help as I have the opposite problem caused by excessive working out at the local gym (exercise is soooo bad for you). I had an operation to lengthen the tendon (lateral release) as the knee was grinding on the thigh bone but this has left me with a floppy knee cap with about 5cm of lateral movement. Thankfully it has never come completely out of the socket but I have found wearing a knee brace gives a lot of support. I got this from www.vmmarketing.co.uk for about £40.

Gents, I've been working on my fitness by watching a lot of telly and drinking beer. And I can report that my knees have never given me any trouble at all.....

Only 4 weeks till your back in action? Luxury! 6 months ago I fell off one of those kids' fold up scooters and smashed my kneecap. 2 months in plaster, 3 months physio, still hurts like hell. On the waiting list to have the metalwork taken out - I'm considered an urgent case so I only have to wait another 6 months - ha!
But despite all this doom and gloom as soon as I could physically insert my leg into the cockpit (not easy - involved lots of screaming and swearing) I was back driving my S. Oh JOY!
