Just got my car back after a few attempted repairs on various things, one of the problems i had was lumpy steering, they changed the fluid and checked everything and it has improved things, but after enthusiastic driving the steering gets very heavy to the point where it doesn’t seem to have PAS anymore even at slow speed..

Leave the car for a while and its back to normal, anyone seen this before.

Cars going back in again next week, to fix all the other little issues that werent fix the first time.

Steering column UJs seized. Knackered PAS pump. Knackered PAs rack or lack of fluid in reservoir. Check levels and for leaks especially at the pump end which is quite common. If it is a rack or pump expect a big bill. If it is a leak or UJ expect a smaller one.

Thanks for that Steve, the fluid levels are constant and there dosent seem to be any leaks anywhere and no nasty noises from the pump so i guess its pointing to the rack. I;ll make sure i tell them as they didnt seem to know what it could be.

Thank god I went for my AA warranty then
