It’s back on the road.!!!!!!
We got the car back in December and put it in the workshop as a fill in job when the boys were not to busy (hence why it has taken so long).
We thought we would build it as a track/road car so off came the body and we took everything of back to the Chassis.
New outriggers fitted and having stripped it back we started the re-build.
We have changed everything we could, new pipe work (brakes and fuel), fuel pump and filter, new top and bottom suspension parts, gearbox checked, engine played with a little bit, upgraded brakes and suspension, Sports exhaust, Roll bar, new dash, re carpet and a whole bunch of other bits.
Then of to be wrapped in only what can be described as a “you wouldn’t miss that in a car park”. Wrap.
New M.O.T and taxed it is now ready to go and play. I am thinking about going back to the ring and see how it goes.
So if you do see a Snake skinned Chimaera and wonder what the hell is that, you now know.

Wraps are alright for ads etc but look crap up close (not paint) and this is no exception I see it today at Capel but it gets the point over
I disagree. The quality of wrapping has advanced so much. My mate runs Sign Team in Peterborough who wrap all the Radical cars, well they wrap pretty much any car and also do signs. I've seen the results and they are amazing. Angular cars work best for a wrap but even curved ones done properly look amazing. The quality of vinyl means you can wrap to a high standard like paint and with any colour, texture and image. No it won't be like paint but the results aren't far off and the quality of some resprays isn't 100%. Here are a couple of examples of M12's and a Radical.

Agreed. It looked good for what it is, and what it is intended for, and certainly catches your eye, but there is no way any wrap I have seen equals the deep mirror gloss of an original 'hand painted' TVR original (or equivalent/better respray).
It could however be a good idea for the lower area of the front for reducing rock chips. I might even look into that.
Good to meet you yesterday Simon, and to catch up with Peter again.
Great show and a good day out as always at Capel.

Same here I have yet to see a wrap that equals the kind of shine like your Chimaera and that's what I am talking about maybe others are less fussy you dont get depth of shine with wrap ....FACT It looked good for what it is, and what it is intended for, and certainly catches your eye, but there is no way any wrap I have seen equals the deep mirror gloss of an original 'hand painted' TVR original (or equivalent/better respray).

Hi Rib
The car was done here http://www.signcube.co.uk/Contact/ very good guys. A wrap will never be a good a paint finish, but we wanted to use the car as a promotion for Mole Valley and we chose this instead of the normal stickers. As someone said "it does get the point across".
