Stelvio sucks, tvr owners do not apply, first gear around most bends going up. The fluela pass is much better. I cant see the point in a road you cannot drive fast on. To fussy for a tvr with its not to good turning circle. It just stressed me out to be honest, better on the way down though. To be fair i knew it wouldn't be for me and should of took another route. Crap
SimonI am rather confused I always thought the enjoyment of driving is getting the max from the car for the road you on regardless of how high the needle gets any joy rider with a heavy right foot can drive fast in a straight flat road with gentle curves.
However Driving a car Classic or modern to its limit for a particular road develops skills you never learn on other roads.
Some of the best fun I have had in a TVR was on the Go Cart Track at Spa where we had to achieve a particular Time with penalties for being over the time or under the Time.
Just a Thought but we are all different

Hi, for me it just wasn't a good road for a tvr, the bends are far to tight for the tuscans turning circle and the heat your car gets up to is a concern to me. I think its just a fashion roadI am rather confused I always thought the enjoyment of driving is getting the max from the car for the road you on regardless of how high the needle gets any joy rider with a heavy right foot can drive fast in a straight flat road with gentle curves.

A
Just back from Italy in the Chimaera. The Stelvio is OK but the Grimsell and Gottaharde passes are much better driving roads.
The only spares I needed was the old leads & dizzy cap I took with me to solve a misfire and a headlamp lens which I didn't have
