Tim, I have been keeping my eyes open for a 1/12 or 1/10 scale Griffith 500 for several years.
As I'm not a model collector £150 falls into the "a bit much to spend on something I don't need, and can't use for anything" category. It's something that would be nice to have, but Mrs Blue wouldn't see it that way (except if it doubled as shoes)!
You'll find that most TVR owners tend to be enthusiasts rather than rich flash gts, so price may be more of an issue than with other marques.
Also worth considering is that most TVRs are uniquely specified, and many owners will want a car that reflects their individual vehicle. They also (by necessity) tend to be a practical bunch, so you may want to look at supplying a kit of parts and a building service separately. Despite only having cobbled together a few Airfix kits as a kid, I would quite enjoy building a large scale Griff (the 1/43 ones never seemed worth the effort to do it well).

There must be a few people who have to part with a cherished TVR due to, er, family expansion who would be prepared to pay £150 for a detailed replica of their car. Something to look at until the little blighters get big enough to fend for themselves and you can get another real one!
£150 is steep, but I'd be well pleased to get one for Christmas if it was a replica of my real one (unlikely now I've had it Zertec'd). Depends on the level of detail and quality of finish I'd guess.
Problem is it'd probably end up the way my prized Burago Lambo has, when the little fella gets his mitts on it.

Tim,
I can see the appeal of opening the range with Tamoras and Tuscans, as they are the newest. That would be sound logic if you were going down the make 10,000 of them and flog them for £30. Then Joe Bloggs may well buy them for the desk etc.
But at £150, that's not who is going to buy the models. For that money, it will be owners of the real things, looking for a desktop replica of their actual car.
If you want a ready market of such people, you would be better off pitching this at the massive number of Chimaera/Griffith owners.
Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Your input has been very useful and has given me an insight into the stuff that you guys are looking to buy. Hopefully this project will get off the ground soon and I will be able to come back to the forum to tell you that the models are available.
