Older TVR's to cheap to wave at????
Discussion
It does seem to be the case that the Wedge gets no recognition from newer TVR drivers, but I suspect a lot of that is because they themselves are 'new' TVR drivers; ie young guys, acess to lots of money/ credit, read the motoring w@nk mags and think 'cor a TVR, gotta have one of them' without any appreciation of what has gone before. I guess you could liken it to drivers of Mondeo ST24s who wouldn't know an Escort Mexico if it ran into the back of them...
Here in Blackpool aan den Rijn the guys buying the newer ones also want to own some history and are starting to buy the older ones as well. One friend of us has a new Tuscan S, a Griffith 500 and now also bought an old Tuscan V6. Than there is one guy owning A 400 SE, an S1 and a Tuscan Challenge racer. The Long Kenian has an old Tuscan V8 racer, a 420 SEAC and some grantura's. The long Kenian and I own 6 TVR's together. FYI we all live in the same place which is called Blackpool aan den Rijn by the Dutch club because of the high concentration over here. Are there any collectors known in the UK as well? And what line up do they own?

Used to annoy the crap out of me when I was driving the 350i and owners in their new Chims at the time didn't wave back - they probably didn't even know I was in a TVR
Yeh, especially down south. I imagine many owners of the newers trevors wouldn't recognise a wedge or a 3000, etc. city bankers and the like... old 350is would mean nothing to them. I'm sure it's nothing personal.
And there's always some folk who don't wave, but they are the minority I reckon.
I always wave and get waved at.. and thats not just at tvrs. I wave to caterhams, etc. I wave to motorbikes. Basically anything that seems to have the same idea about driving something which isn't a tin box on wheels.

Sounds to me like Holland is the place for me and the FHC wedges then ! I apologise to any owners i might offend but seldom have i had any acknowledgement from any tiv's newer than a wedge, don't get me wrong have had on the odd occasion but very rarely and never from a cerb or later model than that and yes i do take onboard other comments about reacting in time and yes i have failed to acknowledge some people through not spotting them quickly enough etc.
Anyway this is not a rant and its not the end of the world to me that every tiv on the road doesn't nod, wave or whatever as i am happy driving the cars that i always wanted when i was a kid and even with new models coming out thick and fast the wedge is still my fav and i am not looking to "progress" into a curvy tiv. A vixen on the other hand mmm must start saving again.
