As no one picked up on my very first God/goddess when I restarted the naming game I'll append it again.

Maybe, maybe not, perhaps the link was too obscure.... it was the invisible connection to the 'unseen' new TVR I was trying to make....

Edited to add a girly named car... Nemesis

Nope. Named after Jack Griffith the US importer who 'did a Shelby' on TVRs. You may be confusing this with a Griffin (already nicked by Vauxhall). Go google wink
After a while TVR dropped the naming in favour of numbers - t350, t400 but seemed to lose interest with the sagaris.
Well apart from Tuscan and Tamora which when added to Sagaris was 3/4 of the collection..........

T350 was the only car not to be given a name in fact. (not counting one offs).
3000 S may have been the first one
1800S in 1965?
Good call.

A little too close to Elise? (another girl's name)

And while it may not be a 'macho' car, the Fiat Samantha is rather nice

Not forgetting about the new Alfa Giulia of course

And all those rip-snorting AMG Mercedes? Don't forget that the Mercedes brand was created in name after Emil Jellinek's daughter

And Ariel atom? Bit of a stretch but wasn't Ariel the Little Mermaid?

Boudica?
Amazon?... oh, Volvo have already done that one!
However, will most likely end up being called Bcensoredh (or worse) like most TVRs are at some point...

Elise not a macho male car. More a track ballerina and a very feminine car.
Guilia possibly the only one hitting the mark

Tasmin/Tamsin was a sort of trend after M for Martin

Cool, i only realized by accident that this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhQFp82JAng

from the London Motorshow is actually a 360 degree video and that you can change view-direction by left-clicking and then moving the mouse inside the window or when viewed on a mobile by simply turning around or pointing it up/down.

Gives a bit better impression of the car than a still.
Whenever I see that video I can't help but think of this clip from Friends....

Not trying to be contentious in any way here, but do posters still think that the new TVR is going to happen after all this time? My understanding from the net is that TVR havent yet got a factory let alone equipped it, so even if they leased a facility tomorrow it would be a year or more to see a car.

I have no specific knowledge of the project - just seems to be dragging on too long. Cheer me up by giving me some solid evidence of progress

Good question.

PH is the main (non TVRCC) forum worldwide for TVR's and this topic the pinnacle of that for the new model. The void in information from TVR isn't helping them, and unless there's some form of press release update soon then I won't be able to argue any more against the no sayers who believe its all a pipe dream.

Yes, pretty sure. As much as i'd like to have a more active news flow, it makes sense for them to keep quiet and i'd probably do it the same way. But this article at least, suggests that there should be some kind of update soon:

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/n...

As far as the factory is concerned, Les said the first batch of 500 cars would be built in the first year. That's 2 cars a day and i think they will be able to do that with relatively little equipment and reduced space requirements.

I only hope that they build the batch of Left-hand-cars somewhat earlier to avoid crossing the march-2019 Brexit cutoff date to avoid any problems with tariffs/admission etc. as these cars will almost all go to EU countries.

At the "deposit-holders' reveal" Les said Public reveal is slated for Quarter 3 2017, handover of keys to the factory is planned to be during Q1 2018 and the pilot build to start Q3 2018." So, as I posted earlier, I guess proper production of the 500 LE's will stretch from Q1 - Q4 2019

So, no new TVR's on the road until 2019? Or did I not read that correctly?

I just read my above post again and Julian's original, and read this.... aimed at macho men named after a woman... was the question actually how many macho men with women's names have had muscle cars aimed at them? Or am I overthinking this? I mean, do any of us know macho men who have a woman's name? And do any of them own a muscle car?

Sorry, rambling again getmecoat
