It implies that it will be a static reveal rather than being driven on track. We shall see. Let's hope we see it blast up the hill.

TVR announces that it will unveil its new car to the public at the Goodwood Revival on 8th September

Speaking of the planned public launch, Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR said: “We are incredibly excited to be unveiling the new car at the Goodwood Revival. It’s the first time a global launch of a new car has occurred at the event, and it seems an entirely appropriate place for us to do it, with the marque’s motorsport heritage and an enthusiastic audience of dedicated car fans – and in our 70th anniversary year. After a series of secret private viewings organised for the benefit of existing customers for the new car, we know that we have a surefire hit on our hands, and very much look forward to seeing the public reaction in September.”

Speaking on behalf of the Revival, Lord March said, “We are delighted that TVR will feature so strongly over the Revival weekend this year. It is entirely fitting that TVR, as such an iconic British marque, should unveil what will be a very exciting entrant to the global sports car market at our iconic British event and I very much look forward to welcoming them to the Revival in September”.

TVR has held back a small allocation of the 500 Launch Edition cars for the public unveiling, so will soon close the order book, before re-opening it on the 8th September.

Absolutely brilliant news! I am thrilled for those who have kept the faith. Gordon Murray, Cosworth, 70 Year anniversary, centre stage at the Revival . . . honestly, you couldn't write a better story. I wish I had the money for a deposit.

What a great event to unveil the new car. Going to have to go to this, it'll be a popular stand, I'm sure. 13 weeks to go and counting....

So far all on track as per the briefing given at the deposit holder previews. 400 BHP per tonne and 1200kg, that's 480BHP. About the same as my F430 but 250kg lighter. That's like me 'making progress' in the Fezza with a massive grin, then pulling over, off-loading three blokes, and setting off again. It's going to be epic gentlemen. Deposit for LE - check. Tickets for Revival - check. Excited - check. Image from the email below - nice!

Mostly a repeat of today's announcement, but a little more here too:

The comments from those outside the 'TVR world' are interesting too.

Obviously thrilled, for everyone from dreamers like me to those that have deposits down.
But... the Revival is so not the place for this, it's meant to be all pre '66.
FoS, on the otherhand, would have been perfect in every way. And I have tickets.
But then that's less than a month away, and Gordon hasn't designed the seats yet... biglaugh
Looks like I'm going to have to go to both now!

The Earls Court building always showcases new cars alongside pre '66 ones, and as this will not be a final, running car, it is in that respect it's very well thought out. wink

"The public showing will follow a series of private reveals for customers who have already placed deposits on the 200mph, front-engined V8 two-seater. For its Goodwood launch, the car will be located in the Earls Court building alongside several classic TVR models, to celebrate the marque's 70th anniversary. <etc.> The display will remain static, because Goodwood Revival rules dictate that only cars made before 1966 can run or do demonstrations on circuit."

Good play on words - revival so a good choice probably.
Let's hope most of the parts don't pre-date '66

Yep, front tail pipe :-) But it's the one we've seen at the reveal, so this is the first official picture of the new car. I thought the exhaust looked very cool although i first expected two outlets on each side as indicated in some early sketches.

I meant the two exhausts in this pic. But the front side exhaust, one or two doesn't matter, is a very cool feature imo.

Bugger!

I wish I had bought tickets for the Revival now.
I have attended the full weekend for the past two years and was planning to buy for this year as soon as tickets went on sale before Christmas, but I received a large unexpected bill and decided to pass this year.

Damn!

Never mind, perhaps my S3c will be chosen to appear in the heritage line-up.

Fair play, I can't think of a better place than Goodwood for TVR to unveil the new car.
Les has played a masterstroke there IMHO.

OK, I get you.
But how very convenient/ what a masterstroke!... "I'm sorry, we'd love to demonstrate it, but it's against the rules...." wink
