Does everyone walk around seeing faces on cars? I'm fairly sure I gave up by the time I was 7.
Absolutely right. So when a grown man sees a gurning face on a car it’s worth noting that the car has a gurning face. I think the interior is great, the back is good and the design under the skin phenomenal but the grill suffers from the same issue as 90s Lotuses and the V12 Ferraris of that era. It doesn’t have a purposeful front look.
Harsh but fair....
I like the car, but they *really* should look at addressing the whole gormless smiley face. It’s not like it’d be a huge job for them to reprofile the front clip to suit.
Oh, and for the love of god, ditch the black wheels and lets see it with a nice set of silver or anthracite wheels. Black wheels just look cack, especially in photos.

Here's something radical; how about, bear with me on this, if, and I mean, if, you don't like the styling... don't buy one.
Absolutely. But what if too many future customers take your advice? . It’s going to be a hard slog to get the numbers so it doesn’t seem too brilliant an idea to completely ignore a small issue that might just be stopping a significant number of sales?

I’m with you... the styling from the front door line onwards doesn’t really work. I sat it out before putting a deposit down until the reveal, as I wanted to see what I was buying into. After seeing the front end, my money’s now gone else where.

I’m looking forward to TVR eventually getting this message and showing it with some silver or anthracite wheels as a further showcase of what options will be available. Some updated spiders on that reflex purple wrapped car would look fabulous, Lightning McQueen face notwithstanding.

They’d be nuts not to offer Spiders 2.0. The spider is just about the best looking wheel ever IMHO.
I don’t know if TVR designed it or they just took an offering off the shelf but they just work with every TVR, even the ones then never appeared on.
Yep, I’ve said it before, but about the only common design language from the past 25yrs that TVR has ever had is reflex colours and spider wheels. Can’t believe the design team missed this as Les is on record as saying that TVR don’t have any heritage design elements.....doh!I don’t know if TVR designed it or they just took an offering off the shelf but they just work with every TVR, even the ones then never appeared on.
Bonnet vents/heat extractors are also another one. Whilst they look great, not sure how aerodynamic they are in practice.

I don’t really get why they’ve given it that inane baby smile, unless they’ve a sponsorship deal with Disney.
It looks moronic on all cars and it never works unless the target consumer is female.
It also makes a car look cheap.
Unfortunately the front grill of this car makes you want to check it’s carer is near by.
Lord knows why grown up, intelligent men decided to make the front of a great car resemble a gurning simpleton.

Although I think Les and the team have done amazingly well to get to where they are, I do think they have dropped a bk with the front end.
If models of this car were dangled from a baby's mobile, said baby would giggle, blow spit bubbles and reach for it. It should look mean and aggressive FFS.
Even turning the mouth upside-down using ms paint, to give a fish angry about his lip implants is an improvement.
Come on you 'shoppers, we've had lots of colour changes, now let's have some good front end suggestions!

There's been quite a few earlier on in this thread. Most got poo-pooed by depositors who said anything other than the chosen design would interfere with the intricate Gordon Murray styled aerodynamics as the air stream flows around Lightning McQueen's chin and produces downforce unheard of in road cars of less joyous facial expression. IIRC those were just Tuscan pepper pot grille inserts, I'm talking wholesale redesign, properly rendered with lighting etc, like my pic above m4tti said:
It needed a front end more like this, rather than a “Herbie Rides Again” face.
People should be thinking “Evil Tvr” not Pixar movies.
That looks evil and fab!!
I like the new Griffith, especially in the purple. But I do wonder what I would think if I didn't love TVRs??
Although the performance is exactly what I would want.
