A Porsche Turbo S with 4WD does 0-100 in 6.5 seconds which is amazingly fast.

I can't see a RWD only car achieving the same as much as I'd like it to.
A good comparison ? - Porsche 911r (manual and rwd) -
Power / weight 364 ps (359 bhp) / tonne

0 - 60 mph 3.4 s
0 - 100 mph 7.4 s
0 - 130 mph 12.1 s

http://fastestlaps.com/models/porsche-911r

If the new Griff can get a similar 0-60 time.. (it does have TC) it should be able get under 7 secs to 100, maybe by that half a second to match the Turbo S

911 GT3 RS (991) specs
Power / weight 346 ps (341 bhp) / tonne

0 - 60 mph 3.0 s
0 - 100 mph 6.8 s
0 - 130 mph 11.7 s

Once again as excitement was dwindling, Les hits us with just enough info to stoke the fire. So... guesses on the ‘big news’ then? ...

Every new Griffith will come with a 6 month/2k mile warranty to demonstrate their confidence in the new car.

I love the rigidity stuff.
Doesn’t matter what it looks like anymore it’s going to be one heck of a car.

I thought Les Mail was excellent. thumbup

Great update, so glad the Gen3 Coyote has made it into the car, that along with the Cosworth tweaks should see it be rudely healthy with the potential for pub bragging rights of 500hp.... Maybe...
Good luck to all deposit holders it's got to be worth the wait.

That’s a good email. Very good that they’ve been able to swallow the cost of the new Coyote.

It is going to be a phenominal car but there’s no point in comparing it too directly with the other stuff in terms of toptrumps as it doesn’t have all the gimmickry to assist.

All that means is off the line it might struggle against some of the rivals, but rolling it will have the legs..

It does have traction control.. so should be able to match rear wheel drive cars..
above 60mph, power to weight should give it an edge.. as should 100-0 mph figures (braking), as the car is a lot lighter than it's competition.

In gear times could be awesome.

Do we actually know the weight of the car. The actual weight rather than the intended. I haven't seen that yet

they are firm on a 400bhp /tonne power to weight performance

I'm pretty sure it will be v near (under or over) 1250kg.. otherwise you'd need to get the engine over 500 BHP..

who knows it may come in under that weight, with more power and the 400bhp/tonne, is a minimum target ;-) ;-)

I think 400bhp/ton was the minimum wasn't it? I get the impression it will be higher now!

I'm bloody excited for this car and I'm not even a depositor! biggrin

lighter than a Cerb. With a heavier engine. I guess the carbon bits will make the difference. Will be corking with a 400bhp/ton though

Mmmmmm...just watched ‘snoooooze~gear’ n the 720S front lights are very similar (aero features). Not seen one for real yet..but imagine it’ll look ‘insane’ just like it’s little brothers.

Les has said he’s gonna send out a ‘brief questionnaire’ to the Deposit~Holders for feedback....

Yup, I'm a depositor and still think the front lights/grille could use a tweak but everything else more than makes up for it.

The thing is, they suit the 720s because of the overall shape of the car - let's call it futuristic for want of a better word, but and I am no design guru, they are just too big for the griff, I get the complex shape etc, but when I get mine, I am definitely going to do something about reducing the plastic area.

The questionnaire will be things like;

What is important to you?

Climate control
Ashtray
Parking sensors
Radar Detector etc

I don't think they will be asking about the aesthetics.

I wonder if the blockbusting news has a hint in it, maybe starring in the next Bond film?

Good spot. The more i think about it, the more it makes sense to me. Bond is booked for Aston, but maybe one of the girls or one of the villains could give it a spin.
