Been browsing a bit and came back to the Ferrari. Still vapor and most likely never to be released, but this newer pic here is a lot closer to the TVR front style idea, but "done right". Very dynamic and aggressive. This is different lights than the one from my first link. Would like to see it full frontal, but looks like they got it right from all angles and not fishy at all.

Marvelous piece of work.

Similar design yet vastly different result. Just having bigger vents under the lights and a different shape grille totally changes the look from the gormless tvr to the purposeful concept Ferrari.

Yes, very nice.

I know we've done this to death, but I really don't get it. It's a clean sheet of paper. TVR should be right on the cusp of what the regulations allow, not being woefully compliant. I am getting progressively disappointed by the front to a point where I am seriously considering the Vantage (which doesn't have a particularly strong face either).

TVR, I am begging you, please Sagarise the Griffith - trust me - there is a market for outlandish, it's bigger than your bean counters think and the only reason TVR failed last time was because of reliability concerns* (fake news or not) - If skoda can turn it around, so can you!

By not changing the front you are telling the world you don't take criticism on board or worse, you cannot afford to redo it. Either way, that will come back to haunt you.

Anyway, any more vids guys, I can never find them on youtube, just that shmee guy who has great taste in cars but has a smackable face.

Similar style but with bigger vents and upturned grille looks awesome.

Looks like a shocked fish if we are playing the face game.

The front aint changing, it is what it is. I would have thought by now a picture with the front number plate on would have emerged to give a bit better perspective and a video of something other than it being revved up in a car park might have been aired by now.

I’m just staggered at the lack of information on TVR’s progress with the factory/programme/more details on the Griffith. They can market at Le Mans but can’t answer the question of ‘when’. I would be seriously disillusioned by now if I was a deposit holder.

And it would stop us here having to discuss the inside leg measurement of the square root of fk all.

I hope you're not suggesting thats an improvement... silly

Thing is, if TVR change the front end, SOME of those who are vocal about it on here might think it gets better, but some might think it's worse.
Some who liked the original might think it's worse.... what do you do??!

Personally I don't think there is anything much wrong with the front end.

The car really needs some stunning metallic colours like TVR's of yore, and nicer wheels.

I’d change it.

Threads in here have been overwhelmingly negative, so have polls. Whenever you read articles, the comments are full of people saying they don’t like the front.

It’s not a 50:50 thing at all. I’ve been on here since all the tvrs came out since the T cars and none of them have had the same weight of negativity about looks that this car has.

I’m absolutely certain that the looks of this car are going to affect sales. I know plenty of tvr owners who couldn’t wait to see the new car but like me are put off by the looks of the front. I don’t know anyone who is ordering one. If it fails, the looks of the front will be a big factor.

How many people on here have ordered one? This is a tvr forum and the response has been lukewarm at best.

I think you need to go to spec savers, the Ferrari just looks as guppy as the TVR.

I am biased towards the TVR so in my mind, the Ferrari looky likey looks worse.

Having seen & heard this car at the CBW in Le Mans this year...I am pretty sure this is my next car.

In the flesh it looks great, and sounds even better IMO.

It ticks all the right boxes for me as far the 'proposed' specs go (Lightweight, NA V8, Manual Gearbox, and reasonable price). It's like a right hand drive Corvette...which is something I've been crying out for for a long time. It looks like my dream car.

I will be placing a deposit I think, but need to have a chat with them a bit more. Having spoken to Keith & Les in France I was pretty happy with what I heard, but I still have questions, such as: 1. How secure is the financial backing? 2. How will aftersales servicing work? 3.what is the scope for dealer networks?, etc.

All in all....I really like what I have seen so far. I hope it lives up to the billing. The ultimate proof will be in how the thing drives as well!

Admittedly it's easier in concept renderings. You can put on those ultra-large wheels, don't have to think about road clearance, no ugly regulation limitations etc.

I think they really nailed the TVR from the side, it's the front where things don't work that well. I don't think they will or could change anything, not at this stage anymore. It will not stop me from confirming my order, but they've given away points here, that's certain. It's a bit annoying to see that it's not what it could have been.

Check side vs. front comparison:

Also amazing how close the first drawings have actually been to GTO renderings:

Search for TVR Griffith 2017 or 2018 on youtube and you'll get the current ones, or are you looking for something special ? There are also various on the TVR Facebook and Twitter pages such as this:

For the initial run and maybe a couple of years, I would say pretty secure - I think they said they can still make a profit on 1,000 units a year
2. How will aftersales servicing work?
3.what is the scope for dealer networks?, etc.
They will have a dealer network but even though it's a trek, I will want the factory to service mine. Got nothing against prospective dealers, just think the factory visit will be nice and one day there may be a track there!

The ultimate proof will be in how the thing drives as well!
Absolutely.

Thanks Bullitt.

I'm just one of those saddos that likes looking at cars - I think I'm just praying there is an angle where the front looks nice! My screensaver looks quite good admittedly but having seen it in the flesh now, I realise that is a flattering view where the headlamp surrounds look quite small!

No worries, you're in good company wink

If you want i can send you some links to a facebook-page via forum-mail that were once posted here but the owner asked the links to be removed from the forum. They are still up there and publically available.

Yes I've seen it in the flesh.

It feels like it's from a different decade (not necessarily a bad thing) and I think there is a disconnect with the front and the rest of the car.

I still want one because I think although the looks have let me down, the package will be compelling.

If it gets bad reviews or after I've driven it and disliked it (whichever comes first), I will walk away as I don't have that emotional connection I usually get with cars.

Case in point, I cancelled my TT order in the 90s because they added a tiny little rear side window - that's how fickle I am!
