What about the poor advert for Porsche? One white and one black door mirror - not sure how that got through Quality Control.
Must be the automotive equivalent of port (left) = red, and starboard (right) = green. S'pose it helps after spinning the car. Either that or the black one is a hasty replacement for a white one that fell off ?tileart said:

Right, because they cannot trust the position of the engine ;-)I am sure or I hope things are moving on behind the scene, an update explaining what that is would be most welcome but worryingly maybe they have nothing to update. I think TVR realise the size of the job in bringing a car to market and the amount of money required. If they can't pay for decent PR then it makes you question the overall funding package to allow the car to make it into production.

Probably too many relays in the headlight circuits. Common in team racing to have distinguishing features between the two cars for ease of indentification e.g. different door mirror shell colours, different light layouts for night racing.

Is the reason nothing happening at the factory.. simply because (as we have previously been told) they don't actually get it until August......
Full steam ahead from next week?
I remember that mail. But i don't think so. My understanding was that they would get a cleaned/empty/ready building in August. But these pics look like nothing's been done yet. Full steam ahead from next week?
In one of the last updates Les stated that they had already moved into a (way) smaller hall on the other end of the area and that they would use that to set up production tooling. Imho, the big building is too big anyway. Building 2500 cars per year, which is their goal way down the road, means building 10 cars par day, 500 in a year means building 2 per day.
The original building is huge as in friggin' HUGE. You can build 2 cars a day in the receptionists office of it and 10 cars a day in the cafeteria. So my take is, there's nothing being done, as they will not move into this building, simply because it is not a good fit.
Throw in some Brexit-uncertainties (i.e. EU-money vanishing, hard-brexit, maybe no transition-phase) and Circuit of Wales dead and even someone with two fingers and a sore eye can figure out that it would be a waste of money to move in there.
Would be interesting to see current pictures of the other building !? And, as said before, some form of update greatly appreciated !!

TVR are supposedly taking part of the 185,000 sqft factory which is supposed to be fitted out for the new tenant which is the Welsh Assembly. See article below. Anyone live within driving distance of the Rassau Industrial Estate maybe go and have a look?

About 25 posts up from this I'd say, with photos...which is what sparked the 'what the hell's happening with the factory' diversion from the normal 'what the hell's happening with the car' discussion. http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/business/15801196...

Buses – none, and then 2:
You may recall that the Welsh Government recently announced they had acquired the building for TVR's new factory facility in Ebbw Vale just before Christmas. As time was ticking on, we decided to acquire some additional space in order to let us get started in advance of the refurb being complete on the main building. I am happy to say that this has now been achieved - close to the the main facility. We have already begun the move from our Guildford development site to the new unit and to configure the building for pre-production builds, pilot builds etc.
...
Still, this smaller building should be somewhere in the proximity of the big one and should be the more interesting place to look at right now.
There even was an official mail from Les in Dec 2017 that the Welsh government had acquired the big factory and that they were about to prepare everything for a (stated elsewhere) August move-in. So this is kind-of confirmed.
But looking at the new pics it looks like nothing has been done there and frankly, this does not fit in with moving in in a couple of weeks. I always thought and stated that the factory is too big for them and even in a shared model, you'd need additional big players to fill the space. A building has running cost as well, and the bigger the building, the higher the cost for heating, power, security etc.
That's why my (totally) uneducated guess is, that they are looking at something more suitable now. They must have gained a lot of information, feedback, deposit-returns, new deposits in the recent months and should have a lot more visibility. Whether that visibility indicates smooth sailing or cliffs ahead, we will see.
Just like others, i'd clearly prefer not to have such a lengthy period of silence. One should not speculate, but then again that's why we are all here so in the best case this silence is just a case of exceptionally bad customer communication, in a worse case it means they are reshuffling stuff (financing, sales projection, production-planning, factory, whatever) and need to be careful what they tell and in the worst case it means we'll all get a mail telling us to go home and buy Porsches (urgh) instead.

So the delivery of the factory is subject to the competence and efficiency of a provincial government whose constituent employees are not only not the best people at their job but currently focused solely on where their financial crack cocaine is going to be coming from if their EU dealer is binned?
And people thought that a date given by such people has ever once, in the whole history of mankind, been met?
Why would anyone think that the communist collective workers’ body of the United Welsh Socialist Republic was ever going to deliver anything as agreed. Ever?
They probably haven’t even decided which biscuits to have at the first meeting about the next meeting let alone who the diversity officer is going to be and are almost certainly three quarters of the way through the budget.

All fine with me. A simple mail telling us which biscuits are for order would go a long wayAnd people thought that a date given by such people has ever once, in the whole history of mankind, been met?

To quote Michael Winner and those GHASTLY Esure ads, "calm down dear".
More significantly (imho), if it was me I'd have been recruiting a few skilled engineers by now - any evidence of that in the local/national Jobs ads ?
And as a confirmed sceptic, I have always viewed "job creation" as part of the S&M (Smoke & Mirrors) school of economics. There was an interesting piece on a BCC blog last year which shows where the skilled jobs in that part of Wales (roughly speaking between blobs 10 and 5) in the automotive sector already are. So you either poach chaps from elsewhere, or you train your own in an Academy. But all that takes time. Way too late (again imho).
