New TVR still under wraps!

As I understand it: (please forgive/correct errors)
There once was an engine building company in Coventry (specialising in Suzuki IIRC?) that TVR used to develop and stretch the RV8s. The work grew to such a level that they were incorporated into TVR under the name TVR Power, later also building the AJP V8s and S6s.
After the collapse of TVR, TVR Power (Dom) bought his company back from Smolenski and continued the TVR work.
Under the new Les Edgar regime, they couldn't/wouldn't agree terms with TVR, hence had to change their name, now known Powers Performance.

Good news indeed for the re launch of our favourite marque.
Is it absolutely certain that Nikolai Smolensky is in no way connected to the TVR brand, manufacturing or licencing of the new TVR company ?
A few rumours continue to circulate.
only see those rumours here.. TVR have categorically said they bought TVR lock, stock and barrel.. so why keep spreading rumours. Is it absolutely certain that Nikolai Smolensky is in no way connected to the TVR brand, manufacturing or licencing of the new TVR company ?

So TVR (at last) issue a lengthy update to deposit holders covering specifications, pricing, ground affect, new factory, furture updates, position in queue, driver feedback etc and still several negative posts saying car is ugly, won't sell, won't be built, is a load of waffle and so on.
What a miserable bunch of cynics you are!

So what of significance has he told you that you didn't already know, the emphasis being on significance. You have LE waxing lyrical about how good this car is and a load of blurb about where you might be on the list, and even that is a bit vague. What a miserable bunch of cynics you are!
The most important pieces of information are still missing and all he has done has sent out a forced email in response to the concerns expressed at the lack of communication, without actually telling us anything new, and people are falling for it.
It 's a stalling exercise at best and sometimes it pays to be a bit cynical and cautious.
If you had paid a deposit 4 years ago for a newly announced German sports car and were currently sitting here patiently waiting for delivery with no more information than you have currently from TVR everyone would be going apoplectic about the situation.
So hear is my take on the recent announcement for what its worth-
The 'big' announcement that keeps being referred to is to do with future investment in the company. The need for future further investment has become a major issue and has actually taken precedence to moving the company forward. In reality, the company does not have the funds to go much further and certainly not to a production stage. Hence the no apparent movement forward and keeping the deposit holders in the dark etc etc. The grapevine tells me they are courting some middle eastern investors with deep pockets. However, having dealt with such investors in the past i am certain they will not invest until the company has actually gone into production. So TVR is effectively caught in the middle without funds to move forward. Les is a wealthy guy but does not have enough funds required for this! So plan B comes into place by attempting to raise more money in small chunks from existing and new investors. The problem now is that this all looks a little shaky and the management experience to pull this off is looking questionable. Investors will be reading these posts and ask yourself- would you invest from what you have seen so far? I am cynical about the statement from Les - ' would ask that you confirm our records reflect your wishes. Following receipt of these confirmations, we will then let you know (by 1st week in September) broadly where you are in the build queue' This is not for the benefit of deposit holders but really for the company to try and get an accurate feeling for how many committed deposit holders there actually are! Armed with this they will get a feeling for how viable this company really is and i am sure current investors are screaming for this information having seen the company getting to the stage it requires extra funding that they had never anticipated. If all were ok , they would have changed the controversial styling and have multiple demonstrators available by now. The factory would also be in place . There appears to be quite a lobby within wales that is questioning investment in TVR. I personally do not believe this company has long to run in this format- just my view!
So a message to the board of TVR (we all know they read every post!)-
1) To say to deposit holders you are not bothered if they return their deposits hardly creates goodwill- that was my experience. It kind of sums up the general arrogance and attitude. Please stop this as the deposit holders are your friends and your only hope.
2) communication and PR- simply the worst i have seen for years and hugely unprofessional- sack whoever is responsible and replace with a professional. Even a few demonstrator/pre production cars to journalists would help immensely.
3) If you are to have any hope of attracting the funding required you must change the board. You need experienced individuals in the automotive industry with track records. That is what the investors will be looking for.
i reiterate, i am not attempting to be an internet troll but hugely frustrated at what i see and the way i have been treated as a deposit holder. I am genuinely fearful that other deposit holders will not receive anything back.

Stupid question, am I supposed to email back to let them know my contact/order details are correct?
We have included at the bottom of this email a record of the details we have on file for you, and would ask that you confirm our records reflect your wishes. Following receipt of these confirmations, we will then let you know (by 1st week in September) broadly where you are in the build queue
You can if you like but no need - they will treat as correct unless informed otherwise. We have included at the bottom of this email a record of the details we have on file for you, and would ask that you confirm our records reflect your wishes. What's the saying, time to wake up and smell the coffee, or something like that.

I do wonder about these eventual purchasers of a £90k motor who are currently bricking it about whether their precious £5k is in jeapoardy
TVR has done nothing, absolutely nothing, to suggest that deposits are not safe or they are running out of funds. Several on here have asked for their deposits to be returned and ALL have had a refund in full without delay or aggravation. It is disingenuous to imply or infer that TVR are not being anything but honest and honourable.
