I believe TVR are still taking orders according to a local who is thinking of going for it. If they were going dodgy they would be hedging on it, non?

My money is on a big announcement soon.....

May well take a spin up to TC on Saturday, give the car a spin after having most of it apart!

Having seen it in the flesh it will be good to try and sit in it and see what the ergonomics are like.

Note to self, don’t forget the AA card.

Hopefully one of you who goes to Topcats will cross examine Mr Edgar and tell us what is happening.
Just remind him that the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy committee announced today that they want the 2040 ban on new petrol and diesel car sales brought forward by 8 years to 2032. And that Germany, Denmark and Ireland are planning the ban from 2030.
So we need to get a move on. rolleyes

My hope is now I’m on after market Ecu I’ll be able to conform getmecoat
For all vehicles of a commercial use I’d agree with this if it’s actually better for the planet, but leave us old cars nutters alone please.
Who in this day and age drives a classic and puts commute mileage on it, it’s a very rare thing and the average mileage is more like 2000 a year which can’t be anything like as bad for the environment surely!
Even the new car would have a rush of miles then be used as a special car rather than a hack.

I looked at an electric motor at an international race engine builders facilities that was not much bigger than an alternator, in development about 20 years ago now, it was producing 150 hp back then!!!

So looking at previous posts re company accounts we can now work out that give or take a few k the company has circa £500k left in cash . So let’s also assume 400 deposit holders at £5k each = £2m .That effectively means that £1.5m of deposit holders money has been used up in getting the company this far . There are also comments re welsh funding being removed if further funding hasn’t been secured by October 2nd . Correct me if I am wrong but no news on funding is really poor news now. I have to make comment about les and his guys - They are fundamentally great guys and certainly not dishonest in any way . They are passionate and have a dream . The issue is that they aren’t experienced in this field and simply underfunded . I do have an poblem if the financial position of the company is bleak and they are still taking deposits - that’s something very different! No doubt I will get shot down hey again for rumour mongering . What I would say , it’s becoming very clear that some of these comments are from people with a vested interest in this company .

As my earlier post they are still taking deposits and the TC thing tomorrow is to take more.
So I think your conclusions are wrong there, Les wouldn’t be doing all this in the face of impending doom.

I tend to agree as I get the impression Les is a very honourable chap and wouldn’t take deposits in the face of impending doom . Someone needs to go ask him some blunt questions or even try to put a deposit down . But I just don’t get it all and the companies utter silence and just one car after all this time . I generally have a good nose for things and this just fascinates me !

Do we know for certain that the deposits are included in the company accounts though? Presumably if the deposits are being held in escrow, that would make them assets of a third party rather than of TVR, in which case they might not appear in the accounts at all. I'm not an accountant though so I may be barking up completely the wrong tree...

It's been confirmed several times the deposits are not in escrow and are unprotected.
I guess it's then a reasonable assumption they make up part off the companies assets.

The accounts make no reference to deposit holders. So unless they are somehow "off balance sheet" in escrow deposit holders are unsecured creditors. There is a charge over all of the assets of TVR Automotive. So in the unlikely event of a failure the pecking order is presumably HMG, charge holder, Welsh Assembly, bank, unsecured creditors. The assets of the company are mainly intangible.
