Is LE really tall? He always looks hunched up in the car.

That was one of the things I really like about the Wheeler era cars, they were all great for tall people. My wife just bought a Porsche 718 and it’s really small in there. Obviously they’re designed mainly for women though.

Thought it would have been an good opportunity for Les to get behind the mic and give everyone there the latest update, but alas no!!

Very disappointed with the marketing and promotion of the new car, even at this stage there is a lot of people out there who don't even realize a new TVR is about to be released!!!

I tend to agree as I get the impression Les is a very honourable chap and wouldn’t take deposits in the face of impending doom . Someone needs to go ask him some blunt questions or even try to put a deposit down . But I just don’t get it all and the companies utter silence and just one car after all this time . I generally have a good nose for things and this just fascinates me !
YOU “need to go ask him some blunt questions,” and inform him of the accusations you publicly stated, censored.

Having seen it for the first time today 'in the flesh,' I have to agree that it is better than photos suggest. Headroom is OK too, just about, I'm 188cm (6 ft 2 in old money). Better than my Cerbera anyway. frown

I noticed Les was about the same height as me too, but I'm sceptical about these stories of Peter Wheeler fitting in all his cars. My head touches the roof in my Cerbera and PW was supposedly 3 - 4 inches taller.

I’m a bit taller than you but I never sat in a cerb, the first tvr I sat in was possibly a chim or a griff and they both had loads of headroom as did the t cars. I remember going from a Porsche dealership and finding them a bit small and then going to mole valley TVR (Gatwick) and sliding into a TVR and thinking this thing is awesome.

Height and fit will of course depend on if the extra height is in your legs or upper body. Each potentially causing different fit issues depending on car. So a 6’7” person with long legs could fit but a 6’3” person with long body may not for example.

More importantly where is the front number plate and where is it going to be fitted?

Was also at TC today. The car looks great in the metal. Les confirmed that there are various grill and number plate options being considered and deposit holders will be surveyed. He also said don’t pay any attention to the rumour mongers, all is as previously said - they are well funded and while some things are taking longer than hoped for all is on track. He was happy to chat to everyone and has the demeanour of a man on a mission, certainly not defensive in any way about the project. His view, if you want the car then hang tight, it will come and will be amazing. If you don’t have the patience or circumstances have changed, well they would hate to lose you but there are plenty who will take your place.
Some tweaks for the interior but outside is pretty much as is. I’m 6.4 / 105kg and seating and pedals are perfect. Gearbox has a short throw and feels great, nicer than my 911 IMO. Won’t comment on the target BHP but adamant that they will come in under 1300kg and will hit the 400/ton target.
Car sounded fantastic, Les fired it up and invited my young nephew into the passenger seat. Lovely guttural exhaust note, hard and nasty. Will define the car for many who see it.
My view, the car looks fantastic, sounds great, and will be delivered.

I attended the Topcats day today. Saw the car and had a chat to Les. The car is a lot better looking in the flesh than the photos I’ve seen. I asked Les how close the car is to the planned final product. He said very close. - Some changes to the front grill and the splitter underneath it and apart from crash testing and homologation that’s about it. Les said they have high confidence on the crash testing as their computer simulations can give a ~95% accuracy on the outcome. These tests however need to be done on product that’s been built with production tooling so I’m assuming that will be well into next year.
Came away quite impressed.
PS top marks to Topcats for pulling this together.

Agree with all the above.

Phrase was, “we hope to mail deposit holders next week “.

I really hope they do!

Second time that I’ve seen the car in the metal.
I’m 6’-2”, slightly long in the back and I had about 1” headroom.

Not Les but some other handsome bugger wink

Can someone technical tell me why this one and only picture on my phone has come out upside down and fix it please !

Sometimes happens to me when i swap the sides of the phone ( as in start button left instead of right ). The pics appears correctly on the screen and the buttons are also on the right side, but with other tools the pic is turned upside down. Fixed it.

Workaround to ensure correct orientation: edit the pic, rotate 90degs and save it. Then edit again and rotate 90degs three times so it’s back as it was, then save it again.

Lossless rotation or lossy??? If it's lossy then lossy x 3 = much lossed
